Booked Onofria in November 2022 for our stay in May.||The owner of the property is not adverse to making direct contact even though the booking stemmed from booking.com, this saves you some money but you also lose a decent amount of protection.||||1. She will ask for a bank payment regarding the deposit||2. Booking.com are no longer involved therefore you lose some of their protection. Fortunately in my case I have been a long-standing customer & appreciating the circumstances they have been kind enough to pursue this matter on my behalf ||3. On arrival to the property remaining amounts (€) are immediately collected at check-in & there is no ability to pay using credit cards.||||Under normal circumstances none of the above should present you with an issue unless you need to call on your protection because the owner simply does not care & quite frankly is rude in her approach to dealing with guests.||It is also at this point where you realise points 1-3 have been carefully calculated because there subsequently is a feeling that given the above they have payment & therefore the matter is closed in their eyes.||||I stayed in apartment no9, which was described by the owner as the ‘biggest & best with a solarium.’||As for biggest & best I will allow you to draw your own conclusions after reading this review.||As for the ‘solarium’ it’s an area on top of the apartment that serves as a space to store a number of wooden beams that have been disassembled.||No chairs, sun beds, covering or anything one would usually associate with a solarium.||A number of issues were experienced, in the interest of time I don’t wish to list some of the less significant items.||||1. There is an infestation of bugs. As shown on the pictures, they look like spiders the size of the end of a ballpoint pen. || My family & I have been left with red|| small bite marks all over our body. It|| wasn’t immediately apparent where|| these came from apart from being || very itchy.|| Then after some|| investigation we managed to see our|| bodies covered by these little bugs.|| I reported this to Rosa & she arranged|| for the property to be cleaned.|| Unfortunately, whilst an improvement, || the issue is such that it requires a|| comprehensive pest control solution|| followed by an appropriate sealing of|| all the relevant gaps around the|| property to the external wall.|| I highlighted the gaps found throughout, || however I guess a less smart move on|| my part was to take a picture of these|| just after I cleaned the area again.|| The main issue is the window side|| in the master bedroom, which is where || this photo was taken.||||This experience is a first for me & having heard of other stories of fellow travellers I sometimes found it hard to believe, however this genuinely will ruin your holiday, disturb your sleep, leave you feeling unclean/itchy through the day & dreading the next nights sleep, whilst looking forward to being able to get back home.||Subsequent exchanges with the owners lead to her suggesting on one occasion that we left the apartment in a messy state. ||Not only is this untrue & very rude; I wished we were the problem as if the case we could have easily resolved the issue ourselves.||||This of course highlighted Rosa’s stance & manner towards her guests.||Never one to post a review, certainly not without engaging ownership/management I asked for a meeting with Rosa where she could also inspect the state of the property herself, however there was no desire or inclination. ||After all she has collected the revenue & now moves on to the next guest.||||2. The other aspect to be mindful of, which in no way is highlighted, is the fact that the property facing the pool & indeed Villa Onofria is having major renovation works. Therefore if it is a desire to have a restful, quiet stay or maybe even lying by the pool to enjoy the sunshine, this is not the property for you. Also unless you are a somewhat hardy individual the pool is unheated, therefore for most too cold in May.|| Usually when staying in a hotel your|| attention would have been drawn to || this, however not here & of course also|| no concessions in the price to account || for the inconvenience/nuisance.||||In summary, if you were to discount the above, the property does have positives, however should you ever require the owner/management to intervene you will be wasting your time as highlighted by reviews I subsequently read & unfortunately have come to experience first hand.||For us discounting the above proved too difficult as it most certainly ruined what could otherwise have been a wonderful family holiday.||Rosa did suggest wanting to provide me with a monetary offer in light of the issues experienced but again similar to other reviews this has not been forthcoming.||||For your own benefit please consider this review as well as others that have had similar experiences when dealing with Rosa before making your decision on where to stay, for the sake of your family.||||Indeed, looking at some of the other reviews I strongly suspect a response from Rosa that is dismissive whilst looking to falsify the facts at hand, however I hope this proves useful to some prospective...
