We chose this hotel for a short 4 day visit just to have a little break. We were pleasantly surprised with very well mannered and helpful staff, one of the best I have experienced in years! Shortly after I booked in UK, they sent me lots of helpful tips and advice regarding rooms, transport, etc.. via e-mail. Face to face dealing with staff was even better, all were extremely helpful and polite. We had a mezzanine bedroom on the top floor, stylish, with a balcony offering spectacular views of Apuan Alps on one side and the sea on the other side. The hotel beach was only 10 min. walk from the hotel offering many facilities which had to be paid for separately (quite expensive we thought). We enjoyed continental breakfast offering a good choice for everyone. We particularly loved the stylish décor of the hotel, all communal areas and rooms are traditionally furnished and tastefully decorated. It was very clean, hygienic and rooms have a kettle for making tea/coffee. The only downside were probably thin walls between the rooms as we could hear almost everything! Apart from sunbathing on the beach and swimming in the hotel pool we also hired bikes and explored charming town of Pietrasanta - well worth the visit. Our last day we spent in city of Pisa which offers a lot, shopping, sightseeing, nice cafes and restaurants. We recommend to visit leaning tower and cathedral, they were amazing! We can imagine coming back, staying at the same hotel, stay longer and explore a lot more of that beautiful...
Read moreLa Pigna have the feel of a family run hotel (and perhaps it is?). We stayed here a week and saw the same friendly faces (the staff) the whole time. Don’t take a small staff as something bad. On the contrary. They are very accommodating and after two days they all knew which room we were in. Some speak fairly good English but language was never a problem regardless. They do make an effort to understand anyway.|The hotel is a few minutes walk from the beach and close to most of the other things you need.|If you arrive by car don’t count on parking being available on the small hotel parking. Parking on the street is free though but also a gamble. The streets are small but we managed.|The whole beach is basically private and expect around €50-90 to rent a place on the beach. The hotel swimmingpool is free though and satisfying.|The hotel restaurant has a rather small menu but everything we ate there was very good indeed. The breakfast likewise isn’t expansive but has everything we wanted and then some. All tasted very good.|The one thing we missed was more power outlets or rather better placed. |Aside from that there weren’t any problems and we will gladly...
Read moreOur family spent three nights at La Pigna and and we can highly recommend this place to everyone who values small, personal hotels. It is not too fancy, but stylish in a welcoming way and it offers really friendly service, a good bar, a nice pool area (the pool is clean and bigger than we expected from the photos). We had a family room which was spacious and clean with a balcony with georgeous view and a really big bathroom with a window. Italian brakfasts often focus a lot on sweets and cakes, but at La Pigna you could also choose various cold cuts, fresh fruits and you could order eggs just the way you wanted them - a very positive surprise.|The surroundings are also very good. It is a fifteen minute walk to the very centre of Marina di Pietrasanta, but there are bars, pizzerias and restaurants close by you want something close to "home". We could easily come back to the area and...
