Il Nicchio — Restaurant in Unione dei comuni della Versilia

The worst bar/restaurant I have visited in all of Italy. The waitress, a brunette with curly hair and glasses, was the rudest I’ve ever met. She stole from me without informing me. I ordered a small beer and a medium beer for 10 €. She asked if we wanted to eat, and I said no. Then she asked if I wanted 'le patatine' (chips), and I asked if she would charge me extra for them. She looked at me badly and said "no". I gave her the 10 € for the 2 beers and asked if that was enough. She looked at me badly again and, with tension in her gaze, said, 'I don’t know, I have to check.' She came back and told me I had to give her 2 € more for 'the cover charge' - 12 € in total for 1 small and 1 large beer! (even though I had told her from the start that I didn’t want to eat). Riassunto: buono ma troppo caro per quello che offre.

Ci siamo stati per cena, provando diversi tipi di focaccine, un paio di pizze (o dovrei dire pizzette, vista la dimensione) e alcuni dolci. In generale, siamo rimasti soddisfatti della qualità del cibo. Le pizze che abbiamo provato erano molto buone, sebbene un po' piccole. Di focaccine ne hanno tantissime, da quelle classiche ad alcune più elaborate. Anche queste non sono particolarmente grandi ma non lasciano neanche troppa fame.

La location non può essere definita come bella, considerando che mangi stipato tra mille tavoli, sotto un tendone di plastica e accanto alle macchine che passano sul trafficato viale Apua. Questo non sarebbe necessariamente un problema: al mare è normale mangiare in posti così, leggeri e un po' spartani, prima di tornare in spiaggia. Solamente che questo posto ha prezzi decisamente più alti di quelli che ti aspetteresti in un luogo simile. Le focaccine sono sui 8-11€, le pizze pure nonostante siano piccoline, i dolci vanno sui 7-8€, e paghi pure il coperto nonostante la tovaglietta sia di carta e non vengano neanche usate le posate.

Quindi, abbiamo passato una bella serata e mangiato decentemente (personalmente, la pizza mozzarella, pesto, pachini e gamberetti era buonissima, mentre la focaccina con mortadella, stracciatella, pistacchio e salsa di tartufo era così così: i pistacchi penso se li fossero dimenticati perché il sapore non si sentiva neanche lontanamente, mentre il tartufo si sentiva pochissimo), ma non penso che ci tornerei. Se pizze e focaccine costassero 6-8€ non avrei nulla da ridire, ma a questi prezzi, ci sono tante altre pizzerie (soprattutto verso Tonfano) dopo poter mangiare spendendo meno, o molto più buone e carine spendendo uguale. I visited this pizzeria in the evening with my family, so the restaurant was quite busy. Despite the crowd, we managed to get a table and the atmosphere was quite pleasant. The pizza was smaller compared to other places but it tasted absolutely delicious. The only downside was that we ordered four bottles of water but received only three, and we couldn't find a waiter to address the issue as they were all very busy.
