What a wonderful place! We have recently returned from our stay at Palazzo Visdomini & our holiday couldn't have been better. With just 6 suites, this hotel, the former residence of a noble Florentine family, presents a very personal experience & a real slice of authentic Italy. The Palazzo is beautiful. Antique laden & adorned with contemporary artworks. Our suite was a delight with a spacious bedroom, separate sitting room & small carrara marble bathroom. Charmingly old fashioned but with modern day comforts such as Etro products, quality linens & effective WIFI. Communal parts are lovely too - a pretty conservatory for breakfast, elegant but cosy miniature drawing room & charming garden with a small pool. The hotel is perfectly located on one of the towns main streets so shops, restaurants & galleries are all within short walking distance. We loved Pietrasanta, an arty, elegant, historic & typically Italian town. We greatly preferred it to its famous, glitzier, younger neighbour, Forte dei Marmi, which boasts an array of designer stores & a stretch of nice sardine packed beach, but little Italian authenticity. Andrea & all the team at the Palazzo are extremely welcoming & friendly & we enjoyed our chats whilst indulging in aperativos in the garden. Pre-stay e-mails were answered swiftly & with an abundance of helpful information - from these exchanges I knew that I would like both Andrea & the hotel long before we checked in. There is no restaurant but there are many to choose from in the town & Andrea kindly made recommendations. Filippo's, on the same street as the Palazzo, was outstanding. Breakfast at the hotel was a small but sweet, continental spread, a typical Italian offering of cheese, ham, bread & cakes. An utter delight from...
Read moreA piece of old Italy tucked in a pedestrian area of quaint buildings and churches. Convenient to walk to historic sites, shops, art galleries and restaurants. Our apartment was attractively decorated with Italianate furnishings and art work. The patio area in the rear is landscaped, private and a lovely place for breakfast or a dip in the small pool. Our apartment had a kitchenette, Living room, Bedroom and small but modern marble bath. Very comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly: met our every need. You need to call ahead to see where to drop off the luggage since the hotel entrance is in the pedestrian area. The room are all on the 2nd or 3rd floor and no elevator, but staff will help with the luggage. We spent a delightful 4...
