Finding accommodations in Pitligiano can be challenging any time of year. Arriving on a public holiday in early May made it nearly impossible. This B&B is located about 200 meters from the entry to the old town and was an ideal compromise between location and affordability. They also had rooms available!||||The property is easy to find and has ample street parking directly across the street, which is a rarity in the narrow confines of Pitigliano. The host met us and showed us to our rooms. The hotel is a traditional Tuscan "tufo" house maintained to the highest standards. Eclectic decoration, brilliant views of the old city, and a quiet garden made for a very comfortable stay. The owner provided maps, advice on local attractions, and tips on which restaurants gave discounts to clients. This comes in handy as the temptation to eat copiously is always present. The place is in a time warp which is fine for us; the room was ok, clean and presentable albeit dated. The bed was creaky and I could hardly move when I woke up, but after a few stretches I was fine, so not normally something I’d mention. However, that said, I only review particularly good or particularly bad places. This made it to the particularly bad place because the breakfast was truly the worst I’ve been presented with in several years. I appreciate that we live in a “covid” orientated world, but at no point anywhere else on our travels in a Italy have we been presented with prepackaged food that you could bury in a time capsule and recover fifty years later and find it had not degraded (it’d still be inedible). Rapporto qualità-prezzo non consono. Dalle foto viste mi aspettavo una struttura più curata, ed una stanza un po' più moderna; invece la stanza presa (Delia, credo. Matrimoniale) è piuttosto vecchieggiante (anche le lenzuola, il copriletto ecc sembravano/erano vecchi, consunti), ma il problema principale era il cattivo odore proveniente dal bagno, un puzzo di urina fastidioso. Evidentemente l'aspiratore funziona male, o non è abbastanza potente. Fatto sta che, appena entrata nella camera, sono stata accolta da quest'odoraccio, che certo non è un bel benvenuto. E l'odoraccio è rimasto; persistente. Oltretutto il doccino nella doccia non funzionava, funzionava solo il soffione fisso. Non c'è climatizzazione ma la stanza resta piuttosto fresca. Giardinetto davanti alla struttura non curato, tavolini mezzi arrugginiti, ed anche il posacenere mezzo rotto e mai svuotato. 80€ colazione inclusa per questo è troppo. Aggiungo, rispondendo a Lei, dato che non mi è possibile controbattere che, mi creda, il puzzo non era di candeggina. Ma si sentiva davvero cattivo odore dal bagno. E il posacenere, quello lungo in giardino, non quello sul tavolo, era sì pieno di cicche. Detto ciò ho solo espresso il mio PERSONALISSIMO parere, anche perché ho ricevuto una mail che mi invitava a farlo. Ho, del resto, trovato squisiti i ragazzi suoi collaboratori che ho avuto modo di conoscere e sono stati molto gentilie disponibili.
