With so many holidays planned this year. We decided to make our second trip to Venice on 2022 as inexpensive as possible. We know Venice so well now and know how little time we stay in hotels. So at around £260 for 4 nights in may, it’s cheaper than living at home.
The hotel is lovely, like most hotels in Venice a little “bygone era” but unlike many. This hotel does not charge through the nose. Our room was small, but then we did pick the most basic. When you opened the window most of our stay was incredibly quiet, all you could here was the lone barks of dogs in the distance.
The hotel itself was quite grand, however in its heyday it probably was a big deal. They have a lovely well kept terrace and all the staff are very pleasant.
On our departure day, I sat out on the sun terrace and bar the radio playing, it was such a beautifully chilled experience. Well designed to protect you from burning if you happen to nod off in the sun.
Given the hotel is also quite quiet means you get excellent customer service, groups coming on buses get a nice wine reception which is a really lovely touch.
I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in Venice on a budget, Lifo is a lovely place with a very different vibe to St Marks, meaning you can stay on Lido and cheaply boat into the city each day. The Biasutti is a magnificent example of=f good, clean, reasonable accommodation, well located to all amenities but ran with the staffing level, and standards of another era.
We will definitely be back, next time trying their top end room, to see the difference.
We stayed in room 202 if you are enquiring for a quiet day, I should add however the room gets quite warm, so opening the window at night...
Read moreWe were indecisive and booked two different hotels which were nearby for one night stay in each, Biasutti and Pannonia. The first night we stayed in Biasutti. We arrived a little earlier when the check in time and were greeted by a lovely lady who was polite and very welcoming. She spoke good English, gave us some tips how to get to Murano and provided us with a map of Lido. We booked the cheapest option and were chaffed to get a room upgrade. The room was spacious but I would say lacking modern touches. It didn't bother us at all as we knew almost all hotels in Venice had similar style. There were some signs of leak above the window which was painted over, but yet again, nothing that can put you off for that price. The breakfast was good and caters for different dietary needs. My daughter absolutely loved their freshly squeezed orange juice and the coffee was good. We loved their lobby area and the veranda. It was very cosy with lots of greenery and comfy sofas. The location was just perfect: it was literally 5min walk from the water bus station and maybe 10min walk to the beach. We loved returning from crazy busy Venice to Lido as it was much calmer there. There is Comfy supermarket just around the corner where you can buy hot food as well as many delicatessens. If you are like me and cannot decide between two 4 star hotels which are nearby Biasutti and Pannonia, I would recommend Biasutti. It is hard to believe that both of them are 4 stars (more like a 3) but Biasutti has better charm, has better breakfast and...
Read moreLocation in Lido very nice. 5 minute walk from dock. Everything is aged in hotel. Staff service drove rating ,we had to open a bathroom window after a shower (no fans, OK it is an older building) and 3 wasps fly in (no screens?) We were able to close the bathroom door and contain them but use of the bathroom was out of the question. Tried shutting off lights and hoping they would voluntarily leave, they didn't. Talked to Hotel concierge and he politely said he was only one there and we would need to wait until his boss arrived at 0700. when his Boss arrived.. At 0700 new concierge arrived but couldn't do anything until maid arrived at 0800. There was another couple at desk with 10 wasps in their bathroom. They got a similar response except it would be 1000 before anyone could help. Asked for use of another room, sheepish shrug from concierge, none available. The other couple was granted a room to take a shower?? (Must have not met the wasp threshold) I would speculate this is not the first time this has occurred and this is stock response by the staff. Again as always they were polite but didn't take concern seriously which says a lot about their true...
