It was amazed to know that it’s only the Indian restaurant. However, got to know that food is cooked by Bengalis boys..
The taste was not that Indian type. However, to have a taste change and to try similar to Indian food you all can join.
Being a India and eating and spend time at this place I would definitely recommend to visit for the taste change.
Buddha Soul is an Indian restaurant located on the Lido Island, just a short boat ride away from Venice. The restaurant serves tasty, good quality and authentic food, one of the best in Venice, Indian food from all over India.
The large menu has many vegetarian, non-vegetarian, and vegan dishes, including starters, breads, curries, and a variety of interesting thalis to try. There are also some innovative deserts, along with Italian and Mediterranean dishes, which include falafel, couscous, tofu, and Seitan dishes. The setting is relaxed and the service is friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable, and they also offer takeaway.
The Lido Island also makes a refreshing and relaxing change from the crowded, winding streets of Venice, where you can swim or enjoy time on the beach before visiting Buddha Soul. If you want a good Indian meal then it’s worth making the effort to take a trip out here, as the food, service and prices are all better than at Ganesh Ji. But be aware that they don’t offer...
Read moreMost of all I felt not very welcome. As the website is not up to date, there was no tofu and seitan. So I choosed paneer. I got as a starter and for free very fine Indian fingerfood with excellent sauces. The paneer (13 euro) was really to the point and, as I asked, not too spicy. Rice perfect. The extra vegetables (5 euro) were not particularly finely seasoned. Lots of carbs too: peas, potatoes....Okay it's typical Indian but here in Europe there is more supply of vegetables. A nice glass of wine that could have been a bit fuller. But the the atmosphere was weird ...I was asked to sit on the first floor ( in an empty restaurant) and didn't caren. But than my candle had not been lit and I was not even asked if I wanted coffee or dessert. Seems to me like the owner wanted me to leave asap. So afterwards I stepped into a pastry shop across the street to eat my dessert and drink a coffee. I was on my own in the restaurant all the time... so it certainly wasn't due to too many crowds. However, it is nice to discover something else as pizza in Lido. And if you are not a 60 years- rainy haired woman with a big plastic shopping bag ( I bought 3 pairs of shoes in Venice and did not want them to get wet) perhaps the owner will even be lucky to see you. (or perhaps he was a little confused because of the flood, as my...
Read moreWe were surprised to find that there are only two Indian restaurants in Venice’s Islands and this was ranked #1 on Trip Advisor, so decided to try. On Google, it’s listed as an Asian fusion restaurant, which makes more sense than calling it just an Indian restaurant. The owner of the restaurant is not Indian, and that is reflected in the taste of the food, but I think it’s really commendable that the owner brought South and Southeast Asian to Venice. We ordered the Vegetarian Thali and the Vegan Pad Thai. The Thali included Paneer Makhani and Malai Kofta, both of which are traditional Indian dishes but were much sweeter than normal. Overall, the ambience and service were good, and we appreciated the variety of vegetarian options. However, if you are looking for truly authentic Indian food, just know that the flavors will be a little different here, but at least the option for Indian...
