During my 10 days holiday this was the very best I had on Lido (and in Venice subsequently). I even went there 3 evenings. The waiters and the restaurant manager made the most possible to ensure I received a table to my liking. They changed my table on my 1st visit without hesitation. They offered me a drink (for free) during my 2nd visit, because I had to wait for a table almeit a had not booked (i did not expect or ask them to!). The big plate with mixed fried fish was extremly good and sizewise unexpected. I had a side salad to go with it, which was just perfect. There were some squares of roasted polenta hidden on the fish plate which are not mentioned anywhere on the menu. The second time a had spaghetti with ragu (bolognaise) and again a side salad. Tastewise it was very good, sizewise it could have done with some more volume, but this is about the only negative i can say. They do offer different types of wine in glasses. I had glasses of Valpolicella Ripasso and Merlot, which where exellent, as expected. On one visit a had a Tiramisu for dessert. No suprises there, tast as tiramisu everwhere else. The service was fast and attentive. Everytime I made a sign, they were by my side in no time, as friendly and as reactive as one could wish. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and cosy with dime lighting, a screen on the wall with a fake logfire and small candlelights on the tables. Pricewize it is on the middle to high side. One last thing I would like to mention: When I asked for bread on one occasion, they acctually brought me homemade bread. EXREMELY GOOD, TASTY AND FRESH HOMEMADE BREAD!! Since approx. 30 years I have spent holidays in different locations in Italy. Where in Italy do you receive homemade bread in restaurants? A...
Read moreWe came across this Al Cavaliers looking for a place to eat dinner when we arrived in Lido. We looked for a good menu and a lot of people eating the restaurant. When we were reading the menu outside, the server told us about their fresh fish/seafood selection & said he’d be around if we had any questions. Absolutely no pressure for him - which we loved! We saw the number of people eating outside (a great indicator of a solid restaurant - the restaurant next door was empty!). When my son mentioned it was hot outside, Teki (pronounced “techy” like a computer person), the server, took us inside to the air conditioned area, that looked an indoor garden. The food was absolutely amazing- we all had seafood. I had a whole fish served table side. Igli (pronounced Ig-lee), the side server, plated a flawless fish with zero bones!! The roasted vegetables that accompanied the fish were delicious. My sons had the fried seafood & vegetable platter (not greasy at all like in America), the seafood pasta & cuttlefish with polenta. I tried each dish & loved them all!! I recommend this...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at a wonderful restaurant located in the heart of Lido Di Venezia, right on the main street of Santa Maria Elisabetta. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with fantastic and friendly service that made us feel right at home.
The food was absolutely outstanding. We particularly enjoyed the risotto, both the vegetable and seafood versions, which were cooked to perfection. The ravioli and Pizza Quatro Formaggi were also delicious, and the tiramisu was one of the best we've ever had. Not to mention, the Aperol was simply divine.
What impressed us the most was their excellent approach to children. The staff went out of their way to ensure our kids were comfortable and happy, making it a delightful experience for the whole family.
Adding to the charm of this lovely restaurant is the occasional performance by a wonderful singer from Gdańsk, whose voice truly enhances the dining experience.
Overall, this restaurant is a gem in the center of Lido Di Venezia, and we can't recommend it...
