Ristorante La Sfera — Restaurant in Venice

We have been visiting the Lido via sailboat and had lunch at this Restaurant. We ordered a bottle of water and a Glass of wine as our drinks. The waiter told us this is not possible, we have to Order at least a bottle of .375 litre for 16 Euros. So we did. After a while a family sat down beneath us and ordered a Glass of wine too, and voila, became a Glass of wine. The waiter simply had belied us. When we paid our bill inside i spoke to the waiter and he only Made fun of us. Another member of the staff was surprised and showed me that they had wine directly on tap and said sorry for the issue. The place looks nice and we were very, very hungry. But, we have eaten there the wors pizzas I ever had in Italy: terribly hard, without any souce, just a bit of concentrate. My Vegetarian pizza did have just three small pieces of zucchini and two of eggolant, allmast raw, not well grilled (my friend even joked, that it must be only „garniè”?). Plus bad kind of cheese on the other pizza Quattro formaggi and very bad wine; this „vino della casa” was definitely from a cheap supermarket :( We paid 65,00 euro for 3 piatti primi, 2 vine, 1 beer (witch was „waterly”, as my husband said. Very bad choise for our first day on Lido. My mistake: never ever go eat italian food in Italy to the restaurant, where the owner is...

Apart from the restaurant staff being really friendly bending backwards to satisfy the most exigent palates, the food is always fresh and prepared in a simple, yet esthetically pleasing way. Besides their pizza assortments, they make their own bread, which, when freshly taken from the oven and complemented by a glass of full-body red wine, is sometimes all it takes to satisfy the crankiest tummy. Their signature bruschettas are simply to die for and their taste gets only better with of the amount of olive oil, garlic sauce and fresh tomatoes they put on them.
