I stayed in this property for two nights (4-6 May 2023). Let me note that the status of this property has been made somewhat "nebulous" and apparently this is deliberate. namely, it is offered (even explicitly in certain sites) as a "HOTEL", whereas it is just an "AIRBNB". Next, the property offers a "parking place" and a "breakfast" which tend to convince that it is a "HOTEL" because these are not typically offered with "AIRBNB". Last, the photos are quite misleading, also supporting the misconception that it is a "HOTEL" (even a luxury hotel). Unlike hotels though, there is no reception, the parking place is not covered, not guarded and not sufficiently lighted, it is in the open-air, yet inside the garden of the building. The breakfast is "Do-It-Yourself" and the breakfast area is too small. I was offered a room (Grimani) which emitted an annoying odour and a parking lot which was completely dark. After my complaints, I was given a much better room (Contarini) and a somewhat lighted parking lot. Although the property is ideally situated for visits to Venice and the surrounding area is not bad, the building itself is quite sad. On the plus side though, the Contarini room was very clean and quite spatious. The breakfast was not rich but quality was acceptable. The landlords were indeed responsive, trying to help. Photos...
Read moreFirst of all, Alberto is exceptionally customer-oriented and provided invaluable assistance during our stay. On our first night, we noticed that the air conditioning was set to warm, as nighttime temperatures in Venice can drop below 15°C. However, coming from Norway, we prefer a cooler room. Alberto promptly arranged for a service technician to change the mode to cooling the next day, which was greatly appreciated.
The place has been recently renovated and is quite charming, featuring a shared kitchen and breakfast area. It's conveniently located just a 4-minute walk from a bus stop, with buses to Venice center departing every 10 minutes and taking only 10 minutes to arrive. This makes staying at Alberto's place far more convenient than dealing with the hustle and bustle of central Venice, especially with the added hassle of stairs and expensive taxi boats for luggage.
Overall, I was very pleased with my stay and highly recommend this place. Based on its price, location, and excellent service, I give it 5 out of 5.
Also I forgot to mention he didn’t charge us for 1 hour early check in...
Read moreCa dei Cedri is nothing less than a Nice and clean room to hide for a week end or so (for people not needing luggages) .If you want to stay longer however you should know in this room you have no table to use the Wi-Fi, no TV and your luggages must be placed on the floor of the bad room (unless you decide to cross the room walking on the - rather soft- bed-). The room is on the first floor – no lift-.There is a striking contrast between the home-page presentation of this B&B and the squalid entrance of the ± 1980 building where this room is located. It may be good if you look for anonymity and privacy. A camera watching both corridor and breakfast area however, may conflicts substantially with this expectation. To conclude: at “Ca dei Cedri”I refused to stay more than one night though I booked four. Hotel Delfino - close by- offered me a brand new apartment, double the size of this room with incomparably superior furniture, charging 14€...
