Da Michele — Restaurant in Venice

Disappointing Experience! I recently dined at Da Michele Italian Restaurant group of six on on a busy Saturday evening, and unfortunately, the experience was far from what I had anticipated. Despite the restaurant’s elegant and upscale ambiance, the overall experience left much to be desired.

First, the service was noticeably subpar. I understand that Saturdays can be hectic, but the staff seemed overwhelmed and uninterested in providing even the basics of hospitality. They were curt and inattentive, rushing through interactions without a second glance. It felt as though they were more concerned with turning tables quickly rather than ensuring a pleasant dining experience for their guests.

The food, which should be the highlight of any Italian dining experience, was another letdown. I ordered the ravioli, and it was evident that attention to detail was lacking. The edges of the ravioli were dry and under cooked, making them tough and unpleasant to eat. It was disappointing to see such a basic dish prepared so poorly, especially at a restaurant that positions itself as a fine dining establishment.

Adding insult to injury, the prices at Da Michele were steep, especially considering the lackluster quality of the food and service. I have no issue paying a premium for a great meal, but this was far from it. The experience left me feeling that the restaurant’s pricing is more about the fancy setting than the quality of the food and service.

Overall, Da Michele failed to live up to its reputation. While the restaurant’s decor and atmosphere are impressive, they do little to compensate for the lackluster food and poor service. Given the experience, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant, especially if you’re looking for value for your money or a truly satisfying Italian meal. Staff was able to speak decent english.

Food is amazing. However we were so disappointed with the service. Arguably the worst service we have experienced since our Italy trip.

We Singaporeans felt that we were treated inferior to the locals.

We ordered a total of 2 pasta, 1 steak and 1 pizza. However, our steak arrived first before our pasta and our pizza did not arrive at all! We were hoping to have all our food together. By the time we finished our food, we were already feeling full as the portions were really huge and wanted to cancel our pizza which did not arrive at all. We thought they must have missed our order then! But, when we asked for the bill, the pizza was in our receipt and we requested for a cancellation as it was not served.

To our dismay, the waiter told us that he did not serve the pizza as our table was full, and that the pizza was already in the oven and baking. It would be ready in 2 minutes (sus, how can he know that it would be ready in 2 mins before even checking with the chef) Anyway, we requested for it to be for takeaway and proceeded to pay for the bill. After paying for the bill and getting our change, much time would have already passed and we were left there sitting and waiting for our pizza which we thought was already ready!!

Our suspicion (though unconfirmed) was that when we finished our food and got the bill, they must have realised damn they missed out on our pizza and hence started preparing our pizza when we could have cancelled it.

Nestled within this vibrant complex are three distinct culinary havens: a charming restaurant, an inviting ice cream parlor, and a tantalizing take-away pizza joint. During our stay nearby, we indulged in both breakfasts and dinners at the restaurant, enticed by its diverse offerings.

From the moment we stepped in, ordering was a breeze with the innovative tablet menu, showcasing enticing descriptions and mouthwatering images of each dish. In addition to the breakfast menu, we savored delightful croissants and pastries from the counter display.

Our dining experiences were nothing short of exquisite. From sumptuous pizzas to delectable pastas and perfectly grilled vegetables, every bite was a symphony of flavors. And let's not forget the divine pancakes that graced our breakfast table, a heavenly start to our day.

What truly elevated our experience was the impeccable service. The staff, exemplifying professionalism and warmth, ensured that every aspect of our visit was memorable. A special shoutout to Antonio, whose thoughtful gestures made my birthday celebration truly unforgettable.
