This is by far the worst hotel i have ever stayed in to begin with we first entered it and we were about 2 hours early for check in and politely asked if any rooms were available early the women didn't even check or let me finish asking and simply said come back at 2pm before i could even say my name and then when we did return we spent 25 minutes queuing because were English and every Italian man or women behind us had to be served first , when we did finally get to our room we were actually laughing at how bad it was for starters there was one plug socket for the whole room luckily we brought an extension cord but how does a room have 1 plug which was the tv which we had to unplug to charge our phones and use other items we brought. The room was disgusting the curtains were covered in paint and dirt and the white walls were pretty much brown with dirt streaking down it , there was dust everywhere and the bed frame was falling to bits and all the paint was peeling off it , it felt and looked about 50 years old the only good thing was the shower was nice if you ignore all the dirt and mould around the bath. I then realised the hair dryer was broke as the video shows the fan doesn't work and it just smokes , i went down and told the receptionist about it and asked him if they have any spare ones he called me a liar and said he checked that room himself and the hair dryer was working perfectly fine after 10 minutes of him calling me a liar he eventually chucked a new hair dryer at me , no sorry about that or we will come and check it just chucked it at me and said there you go. I then also asked him about the Air Con as the website states air conditioning ( apparently its the law in italy that air conditioning isn't allowed on until May but if so put this on your website or tell me about the law ) when i asked him why the air conditioning doesn't work and that its 25 degrees outside and the central heating was turned on if it could be turned off he again called me a liar and said the website has no mention of the rooms having air conditioning which again i had proof off but he wasn't interested. So after spending the night in a room that was easily 30 degrees with central heating on and we couldn't open the windows as the dirty swamp river absolutely stunk so just had to suffer we got through the first time and thought we would give breakfast a try i have never eaten anything so bad all the food was stale and rock hard the drinks are terrible as well the only decent thing was the cold pancakes. I just really would not recommend this at all unless your Italian they absolutely hated us and spoke to us terribly as soon as we started talking english that was it they had enough of us every encounter with the members off staff were awful and the only good thing was checkout took 1 second and the women who checked us out was nice but unfortunately that was our first interaction with her.

Disappointing stay at this hotel. I booked it as it is an Accor hotel partner and I got a decent rate through the Accor website but any Ibis budget hotel offers cleaner rooms with better breakfast than this hotel. The hotel is a short walk from Porto Nuova train station and a 10/15 minute walk from the old town/city centre - that's a plus. While I booked though a so called economy classic room, so not a full 4 star room as mentioned on the hotel website, I still had expected it to be at least decently clean but as can be seen on the pictures e.g. the carpet was full of stains, furniture full of scratches and marks and the shower/bathtub full of limestone that I'd wonder what the cleaner was doing every day. That my room was facing the main road and the windows are anything but soundproof is no excuse either for me having an economy room. That room I had is in urgent need of a renovation. I cannot comment on other rooms, as others obviously had more luck even when facing main road but mine was, for a 4 star hotel, an impertinence. The breakfast was a disgrace for a 4 star hotel. How others can comment that the breakfast is good is beyond my understanding. Obviously they never had really good breakfast. I stayed three nights but only went twice as I couldn't bear to go there the last morning. The coffee is poor (in Italy!!!), poor quality for bread, dry, especially the apparent wholegrain bread was not eatable, the cheese is of cheapest kind (most disgusting brie cheese), cannot comment on the meat as a vegetarian. The fruit selection was okay the first time I went, poor the second time. I had the impression that the left overs from the day before were turned into fruit salad. The juices are awful. Proper 100% juice to get in Italy is hard (hard time in Italian supermarkets as most are nectars) but these sugary nectars are just disgusting. The two stars are for the friendly staff and the hall which looks impressive. If I ever return to Verona I will certainly not return to this hotel.

I was glad to return to this hotel. The lobby and room still looked classic and luxurious, if not outdated. They were very clean to a certain degree. The housekeeping did a good job. I also liked the opulent breakfast. The table staff worked hard during breakfast, but we would prefer not to share a table with strangers. In addition, there are a few drawbacks to our experience this time: No. 1, there were only two outlets for plugging in the electronics - It’s simply not enough for two people for an iPhone, camera, shaver, laptop, etc. It needs at least six outlets for modern travelers at the bedside, desk, bathroom, etc. No. 2: The receptionists at the front desk were not very friendly, courteous, or helpful. I hope they will improve soon. No. 3: The bathroom had quite a few moldy spots, which were very disturbing. No. 4: Due to the heat, some of the outdoor pot plants desperately needed care and water. We couldn’t stand their suffering, so we added water to the dying pots. No. 5, The hotel is quite a distance from the train station and the Verona arena. There could be complementary shuttles between these points and the hotel. (The Hotel charges 5€ for a single trip, which is rather too much considering the high price the hotel commands.) I would consider staying here next year if these conditions were to be improved.

Took a chance booking this through BA City break as I read mixed reviews. I did do some research before I took a chance and booked. I found the TripAdvisor and its mixed reviews were accurate, both the good and bad and very helpful.|The hotel is adjacent to a very busy 6 lane dual carriageway, which is one of the main roads into Verona. It's in a Semi- industrial area about 500 metres outside City wall. The hotel is reached by service road adjacent. It's about a 25 min drive to/from Airport outside rush hour costing from €30 to €40. Tip: (Apptaxi worked well). Entrance road is full of pot holes and broken slabs and no lighting at night making it potentially unsafe as you cant see the broken slabs and potholes, entrance & building is desperately in need of painting as paint is peeling and whole area needs cleaning, overhead canopy looks very old and was filthy. Window seals falling out on many rooms windows. Foyer and reception area is large & surrounded by marble & typically Italian. ALL Furniture are faded, tired and well past their "sell by date" it desperately needs upgrading, paint is flaking off walls. Reception staff could learn to smile more and try and look interested as every interaction with them felt as if we were a nuisance to them. On the 1st night the heating on our 4th floor was on full in the hallway and our room which made it very uncomfortable to sleep. We did inform reception but it took 2 days to cool down. We had a room facing the road, which overall was OK. You could hear traffic noise but not enough to stop us sleeping at night once it cooled down. The room & bathroom were large and very clean, their are plenty of plug sockets but only 2 had USB ports. Mattress was firm and very comfortable and good pillows. Hotel must have listened to previous complaints about no coffee making facilities as they now supply coffee and tea making facilities. Breakfast supplied was excellent with great choice of cooked sausage, bacon, scrambled egg or great choice continental. Fresh fruits, yoghurt, Croissants. Pastries. Unusually they do charge €3 for a boiled or poached egg which seems unnecessary and petty. Staff at breakfast were friendly, competent, professional and smiled alot more than those on Reception. Hotel is 15 minute walk to Arena and is easily achieved walking along pavement. Keep eyes open when crossing as drivers will pass you on Green light for pedestrian. There are a number of very good Cafés enroute to Arena & Piaxxa Bra for a coffee or drink. Verona is a great walking City and a Verona Card is a must buy as it will save you Money. Taxis from ranks in city can get pricey as they have to circumnavigate a pedestrianised city with lots of Oneways. Walking is definitely preferred option. |Hotel Pros: |Rooms comfortable and well serviced.|Breakfast and waitress service staff excellent.|Room Coffee making facilities|Dressing gowns & slippers|Stocked fridge|Free safe|Bedding & towels changed daily |Free wifi|Hotels Cons:|Outside entrance needs refurbishment |No night time lighting on service road|Reception furniture & seating and decor needs renewing.|Reception staff rude|Dual carriageway way and surrounding Vista could be off-putting. |Only a 3 star Hotel overall on...

This hotel has seriously deteriorated since our last 2 visits. We chose to come back because of its location and it was actually quite good before. We were put in probably the worst room ever. Very basic, very small and filthy. For a 4 star hotel I would expect tea and coffee facilities. We were told we could hire a kettle for €10 a day. I’m sure on our previous visits this was included but not anymore. Not very good really. We asked to be moved but was told the hotel was full but to ask tomorrow. The reception staff were not very hospitable when I asked to be moved. We arrived in heavy rain and the seals on our windows were worn which meant water was leaking all over the floor. I went back to reception to inform them. They sent a maintenance man up to have a look who confirmed all the seals were well worn and the only thing he could do was to put towels down to soak up the water. He said the room should be taken out of use to repair the seals. The room was occupied the next day by someone else. They obviously had no intention of repairing the seals. The next day I went to reception to ask to be moved as the room was not fit for purpose and was basically accused of opening the windows to let the rain in so we could be moved. I was far from impressed with this attitude. We were moved to another room again pretty basic, shabby, worn and bathroom grubby. The safe didn’t work so again we had to go to reception to get this repaired. Breakfast was mediocre, staff were slow to replenish items. Two days on the trot I had to ask for tea and mugs, one day I had to ask 3 times. One family had enough that they left and went to a cafe. One couple we met was charged €3 for a pillow and their wardrobe broke, even when the maintenance man appeared he struggled to fix it. They only just managed to get their clothes out. They got the kettle for €10 a day, milk and other items were never replenished. They said it’s the worst hotel they have ever stayed in. I can honestly say this was a very bad experience and sadly we are unlikely to return without serious major changes. The lobby looks plush but once you get out of the lift that’s when it starts to deteriorate. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. More of a...
