Well, another Itoen hotel. The hotel itself was another bankrupt hotel taken over by the Itoen group. One price, 365 days...all you can eat and drink....free karaoke...etc.||I would give the hotel and the room 3.8, although the room smelled of cigarette smoke....especially the bathroom...whew!!! ||The all you can eat dinner and breakfast buffet was terrible. I would give it less than 1.0 if I could. The food itself was not good, and moreover, they were mostly out of food throughout the meal. Empty trays, guests complaining about it. It was a good thing there was beer, sake and "cocktails" of sort included with the meal in a wild and crazy free for all of guests vying for some food before they ran out. ||The location is great...very near Atami station. We had stayed at a hotel in Ito the night before with a pretty decent buffet, so perhaps that is why we all found it awful. Understaffed, they even ran out of coffee cups at breakfast. ||Advice: go to the first meal sitting, other wise you'll be faced with a shortage of bad food. The curry and rice is okay.||The rock bed is great. Don't worry about lying in pools of other guests' sweat...they spray them down regularly. The big bath is quite hot. It is located right at the end of a covered shopping arcade and right across from a good convenience store...good coffee there. Maybe I could give it 3.2. Be flexible, be open-minded. Be prepared to be underwhelmed with the crappy food, and don't let the "All-you-can-eat" fool you. Be prepared to be hungry after breakfast. Go to the bakery near the station to fill up. Oh, and the wifi is very poor in the rooms....go out to the lobby, although you need Softbank (phone company) to get it. A good drunk and a very so so hot spring. ...

Read moreThis hotel was recommended by a business man who frequented the area. Was looking for a place ideally located, clean & affordable. This hotel fit the bill. Honestly, it was more than we had bargained for. Just ¥7800 per person it included an elaborate dinner buffet with as much beer you could guzzle & an even more impressive breakfast spread the next day!||Obviously, don't expect 5 star luxury hotel rooms, amenities, food or service. It is a business hotel so it all boils down to expectation levels. It makes sense splurging on food & travel rather than on accommodation since you are gonna be out all day long & just come back to hit the sack. Not before a rejuvenating dip in the hotels hot spring or sweating it out on a bed of hot rocks in the sauna. As I said, it is good value for...
