The Nakamise shopping arcade in front of Atami Station is a shopping arcade that has been in existence since the Showa period (1926-1989). Visitors can enjoy food while walking through the arcade, from specialty foods such as onsen manju buns to pure coffee shops, Japanese and Western restaurants, and the latest sweet stores. Thick slices of butter are rich and smooth, melting in the mouth! It goes perfectly with the not-too-sweet azuki beans. Queued 25mins for the freshly baked red bean butter toast during weekdays evening. Was disappointed that it was served cooled! What's the point of waiting if they wanted to cool off completely.

The first mouth tasted awesome but got sick of it after half. The paste is super rich, too overwhelming. Would prefer if they sell it in bite sizes with cheaper price.
