Yes the hotel is very old and the room is lack of modern facilities. Only two elevator so have to wait a little. Food is medium and hot spring is medium.
However, these are all reflected on the prices. Combining with location, pickup service, buffet styled dinner and breakfast, the hotel is wonderful. You may get much more ideal quote on Japan booking website if you know some Japanese.
The Japanese style room is very clean and no problem for a sound sleep during the night. The showering may be too old-fashioned but as public hot spring is provided, I don’t see it as a problem. The wait at the elevator was less than one minute, surprisingly fast as I stayed on firework evening.
What surprises us is the perfect location to watch the firework at the balcony of the room in the cold winter. Relaxed and warm and be seated, cannot have a better firework experience.
Also, the buffet styles dinner and breakfast are also satisfying because we can choose whatever we want. Many options are quite good.
The hot spring, although old, is clean and tidy and warm. I don’t see any problem with it. Be sure to bring the towel because towel is not provided in the hot spring.
The pickup service to and from the hotel is ideal and on time. Remember to read the website for instruction (to hotel) and to book the service at front desk (from hotel) Very convenient and cost saving.
The front desk is also helpful, though I barely speak Japanese, they tried very hard to communicate.

Read moreI recently stayed at a this hotel in Atami that turned out to be a highlight of my entire trip. Although I was a bit skeptical due to the many bad reviews, my experience at this hotel was nothing short of spectacular. One of the best features of this hotel is the two huge baths that are open until midnight. I particularly enjoyed the outdoor hot spring and the two personal bath tubs made in wooden buckets. It was a relaxing experience after a long day of work, and I felt rejuvenated after soaking in the hot water. The room was another highlight of my stay. It was extremely spacious, with a living room, patio, the ocean view, and bathroom that required me to run around. I was upgraded to a Japanese-style room, where I slept on a tatami. It was a unique and enjoyable experience that I would definitely recommend to others. The dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, and included a beer and sake machine. It was the first time I had seen these machines and I loved the beer foam that they made. The hotel is locally loved and operated by elderly people, so the service can be slow at times. However, this is a vacation spot, so there is no need to rush. Just relax and slow down your pace. Overall, I would rate this hotel a 5 out of 5 for its amazing amenities, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff. I can't wait to come back...
Read moreread the comments and saw so many low rates, but for me the hotel is ok, its very reasonable price, buffet dinner(with drink alk you can with beers and softdrinks) and breakfast, the onsen is not that bad too, its an old hotel so i don't expect it to be that much but its ok for its price, the view is very good its in front of the port, can see the boats/ships going to and from hatsusgima and ooshima. its walking distance from the ropeway too and walking distance from most of the popular spots in atam, it has shuttle service from the atami station to hotel and hotel to atami station so its thumbs up for me will definitely use again too bad that the fireworks was canceled would be...
