I recently had the pleasure of staying at Amanek Beppu, and I must say that it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The level of service and attention to detail truly made my stay memorable.
Upon realizing that I had made a mistake with my booking dates, I was greeted by the incredibly polite and helpful staff member, Ishiduka Ann, as soon as I entered the lobby. Despite it being entirely my fault, she immediately apologized and took charge of the situation. She efficiently verified my booking number, consulted her colleagues at the concierge, and suggested that I cancel the wrong booking and make a fresh one to check in immediately. She even went the extra mile by recommending that I go back to Agoda to secure the same rate. I was seated comfortably in the lobby while she tirelessly went back and forth to assist me. Her thoughtfulness and dedication were truly commendable.
Although I encountered some difficulty making a new booking online due to the hotel being fully booked for the day, Ishiduka promptly sought the assistance of her colleague to release a room online so that I could book it on the spot. She even made sure that my booking included breakfast. The level of service she provided was outstanding and went beyond my expectations.
The hotel itself is incredibly new and visually stunning. I felt like a VIP from the moment I arrived, as I was offered welcome drinks, including a variety of juices, tea, and espresso coffee, available daily until 10 pm. The atmosphere reminded me of an exclusive executive lounge. Furthermore, the availability of amenities such as hairbrushes, toothbrushes, facial wash, and lotions was a thoughtful touch. However, the most delightful surprise was the selection of different Japanese Yukata (bath robes) available for guests to use. With a wide array of pretty prints to choose from and options available for both kids and adults, the hotel's attention to detail truly stood out.
Amanek Beppu is conveniently located near a Lawson convenience store, various local eateries, and a mall with a supermarket, all within a short 15-minute walk. Moreover, the hotel's proximity to Beppu Train Station, just a 5-minute journey away, made transportation incredibly convenient.
My room at Amanek Beppu was spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was large and provided a restful night's sleep. The separate areas for the toilet, washbasin, and shower/tub made it incredibly convenient for guests. To my surprise, I even found pajamas thoughtfully provided on the bed. All of this was offered at an unbelievably affordable rate of less than USD 150 per night. Additionally, the presence of a smart TV allowed for seamless mirroring and casting of music, adding a modern touch to the room.
In conclusion, I cannot praise Amanek Beppu enough for its outstanding service, attention to detail, and exceptional comfort. From the moment I walked into the hotel until the time of check-out, the staff, particularly Ishiduka Ann, ensured that every aspect of my stay was flawless. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Beppu and looking for a truly...
Read moreI would give them minus 5 (-5) stars if I could. Two towers next to each other. I stayed in an old, small, ugly, not so clean, and overpriced room at the older building. Toilet bidet in the bathroom didn’t work for your rear, so I tried the ladies option and only had cold water, so not a pleasant surprise. The staff was told about this and nobody did anything. Coming back to the room the second night another “great” surprise: the bed was as left in the morning. No cleaning neither fresh towels either. After asking the reason for that they said THE PRICE OF THE ROOM DOES NOT INCLUDE THE CLEANING😳! First time in my whole life I heard that, and I have been all over the world. Maybe from now on in this country I will have to ask if a bed is included in the price of the room, because a hotel is a room with its minimal service expected, and cleaning a room is what you pay for... In any case, they should have mentioned that at check in, no matter what, which they didn’t. And no clean towels either? The girl at the front desk brought towels in minutes, but not the usual towels in the room, different tiny ones, so pretty much useless. One more thing, no free parking included at this hotel either, like most places. You park on a near building and it is 500 yen per day. So they want to make extra money for anything, even for cleaning your room, which is expected even in countries with so many ridiculous, stupid, and pointless policies like Japan. There is much to like and enjoy about this country, but also a huge amount of stupidity and robotic behavior with terrible customer service. They are very kind and have nice manners but they are completely unable to solve anything, and complaining is totally useless because they make no exceptions to solve their own created problems or mistakes. Nobody can make a decision to satisfy a customer if it is not written somewhere, so customer service is a real joke here. I have been in Japan many times and they are completely inflexible: programmed robots. And I am not a robot, so I can’t explain this type of unacceptable behavior when they are supposedly used to work with international visitors. We pay and we have to adapt to them, and never the other way around. The customer here is never right, so be...
Read moreI would love to give this hotel a higher score but there are something I believe the management have to address. ||First is the onsen experience, I came here in early Dec for 4 days, the onsen has no control on the number of guest entered, there were about 10 bathing seats, all were full, the changing room constantly have 6 to 10 people using, the onsen indoor and outdoor were ALWAYS have another 5 to 10 people using as well. If you travel frequently to Japan, you would know it is rare to see more than 5 people in onsen, but this is not the case of this hotel. The shower area has no staff to clean at all (during my 3 nights around 8 pm to 10 pm), I saw used towel is casually hanging on top of the tap, all bottles and chairs were moved and not being placed correctly, and the worst is, after a while there is bad feet smell in the changing room, I am not sure if that is from your slippers or chemical, we smelled it at the stairs to pool on first night, and we smelled it in the changing room second day. ||Jacuzzi on rooftop was never available during my stay, always occupied by people and the last day was out of order, again there were no staff on the roof but they have a bar, and actually there were family there, some kids were playing like in playground at night I think there should be a staff to supervise the place, the pool isn't very clean and sun chair look tired. ||Second is about the choice in breakfast, this is one of the most disappointing breakfast I had in Japan onsen hotel, they serve semi buffet style, but what they gave to you actually not interesting, you got a small piece of fish, a lot of rice, 3 pieces of steamed veg and 1 piece of dim sum, thats all, if you want more fish for your rice, you cannot, there are some japanese pickles, 2,3 kind of bakery at the buffet, fyi the buffet DOES NOT SERVE fish, cold cut, fruit, fried egg and dairy product, there were no snack neither. ||+room is new and spacious|+free juice and coffee||-Too many tourist|-Got bored with breakfast after 1 day |-ONSEN is lacking management...
