This accommodation has so much potential. Overall, it’s in need of a major renovation and facelift. I’m surprised it’s rated as a 4-star hotel. This feels like a graveyard for sterile corporate office furniture from the 90s. For what they’re offering, I feel they’re overcharging compared to other accommodations in this city. My partner and I stayed in two of the suites (we had to move as the first suite’s wired WIFI wasn’t working, which we discovered a day and half into our stay.) I had something shipped to the hotel ahead of our stay with an email alerting them of the package and despite my name being on the reservation, they returned the package to the sender.
Cons: Both suites are basic and in desperate need of new furniture. The couch in the first suite was old and covered in stains. The images and floorpan showed a dining table, which wasn’t there. The two patios were covered in dirt and needed a cleaning. The couch in the second suite is so old you can see every spring (photos attached.) So uncomfortable and not really usable. For what they’re charging, this is unacceptable. The WiFi drops at random intervals for a few seconds throughout the day. If you’re a remote worker with calls, this is your warning. We even plugged in stronger routers to no avail. Our booking included kitchenware (for which they charge extra), which we had to fight for upon check-in. The facilities listings are misleading - use of the pool is not included and the fitness center is independently owned (another extra charge.) They nickel and dime guests for everything. The elevators are aggressive and the timing needs to be adjusted so people actually have time to enter and exit the cab. It’s summer and the pool isn’t due to open for another month. This is odd and such a waste. Empty beer vending machine in lobby. It clearly hasn't been operational in some time.
Pros: The location is good. It’s walkable to the nearest bus station, a park, the baseball stadium (go to a game - it’s incredibly fun!) and several konbinis including Lawson and 7 Eleven. The suites are spacious with tons of storage and living space. Having an in-unit washer/dryer combo is highly convenient, though the dryer took FOREVER - literally a day to dry a pair of jeans. The service was pleasant overall and the daily delivery of towels, robes, and toothbrushes was appreciated. Cleaning is every three days and they are aggressive about cleaning on schedule. There is a selection of products including bath salts and tea and coffee at the desk, which is also...
