Richmond Hotel Fukuyama Station — Hotel in Fukuyama

The Richmond Ekimae Ines Hotel is very centrally located only about 200 metres from the main railway station. The hotel is very new and extremely clean (spotless in fact!) and is just about perfect. Our room was a great size with 2 very comfortable King Single beds, a small 2 seater lounge, a table and chair and a small bar fridge. A very satisfactorily sized bathroom with great water pressure and nice hot water from the shower however a separate toilet across the entrance way was a very welcome inclusion and great idea! The lobby and breakfast are located on the 8th floor and you are welcomed by the friendliest and happy staff we have ever seen. The breakfast was absolutely great with lashing of traditional and western breakfast offerings (hot and cold) and plenty of seating. There was a convenience store/supermarket just outside the hotel entrance and diagonal opposite was the restaurant and bar area of Fukuyama with gave us unlimited dining opportunities and a few good eating and drinking opportunities. We stayed here with our tour group. It is within walking distance of the station and also the castle. The hotel itself is fairly modern but with very small rooms. There is not much room to move around in or put your cases. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and toilet were very clean although also small with little room to put things. Das Richmond Hotel sieht man schon vom JR-Bahnhof-Hauptausgang aus. Der kürzeste Weg ist zu Fuss rechts beim Busbahnhof vorbei (nicht links über zwei Fussgängerstreifen wie Google vorschlägt...)||||Bei der Online-Direktbuchung Ende 2015 standen nur noch Twin-Räume zur Verfügung. Wir versuchten unser Glück beim Einchecken und bekamen tatsächlich ein Double-Zimmer und erst noch mit grossartiger Aussicht in einer der oberen Etagen. ||||Dieses war mit über 27 m2 eines der grössten Stadthotel-Zimmer auf unserer diesjährigen Japan-Reise und sorgte für mehrere Wow-Effekte. Neben der erwähnten Aussicht sorgt auch der riesige Schreibtisch, die beiden gepolsterten Sitzgelegenheiten mit Rundtisch, die separate Garderobe und natürlich die verglaste Aussicht aus dem Badezimmer ins Schlafzimmer für Staunen. Auch die sehr moderne, neu wirkende Ausstattung gefiel uns sehr. Die im Zimmerpreis enthaltene WLAN-Verbindung funktionierte einwandfrei und ausreichend schnell für einen Upload der Daten in die Cloud. ||Einzig einen Safe für unsere Wertsachen vermissten wir in diesem Zimmer.||||Das Frühstücks-Buffet ist in diesem Hotel sehr abwechslungsreich und bietet sowohl japanische wie auch westliche kalte und warme Küche. Seit langem genossen wir zur Abwechslung wieder mal Croissants.
