Appi Earth Color 安比高原ペンション・アースカラー — Hotel in Hachimantai

Just my views. The Lodge you booked me into Life is Beautiful and its sister lodge Arts Color are far superior to the ANA Hotel. In my dealings with the ANA their over all product and especially the customer service because of untrained staff is no where near that in the 2 lodges owned and operated by Tom and his staff ( all family so a different level of care). The meals at Toms are excellent and have varied everyday and are of the highest quality. The rooms are on par with the ANA and can have from 1 to 5 beds in a room, also can have cooking facilities The overall home feeling they have is great. I no ski in ski out is important but Tom will ferry guest back and forth to locations at a moments notice. Just a far superior product in my view and gives a far better real experience. We stayed here over the new year period for our ski holiday. The place is around 5 minutes drive to the ski resort and 10mins drive to the nearest combini, Lawson in town. The reason why I give this place a 5 star rating is how the staff have gone above and beyond in accommodating us during our stay. They provide shuttle service on call, so essentially anywhere you want to go within the ski resort, you just need to let them know and they will drive you there. Every morning they drove us to the ski station and picked us up in the afternoon.

Also take note that you can cook here so bring your groceries if you want to cook because there is limited food choices at the ski resort.

Important warning about this hotel… it’s located far from slopes/bus routes with no reliable shuttle service despite advertising one. When I tried to arrange pickup, management claimed they couldn't find my reservation and then stopped answering calls completely. Trip.com couldn't help resolve the issue.
