The hotel is located near the "botanical garden" and is near the airport. From the Hakodate station you can reach the hotel by bus (96 towards the airport for example) or by tramway with a little walk at the end (from Yunokawa tramway stop to the hotel - 900m).
The hotel itself is fancy, everything is clean and pretty, one can see that there were some designers involved. The check-in process was easy, but you will have to choose your breakfast time in advance.
The room is tiny for this kind of hotel (but I had not the biggest one available). In the room, a bed, a flat screen TV, a round table with one chair and some desk with fridge, safe (ultra small), kettle and tea platter inside. The room also has AC and a humidifier. In the bathroom, a small sink, a Toto washlet and a bath. The shower system in the bath was good (pressure/temperature) and the provided washing products were very nice, especially the body soap.
The breakfast is "crazy", it's hard to think of something not available, I don't know the price of the breakfast (mine was included) but go for it, it's worth every yen. To name some dishes: burger, meats, sea food, curry, rice, soups, danish, milk products, etc
Regarding the onsen, it's located on 12F and there are two options: public baths or private baths (for a fee). The public baths are clean, there's enough washing stations. The baths are separated in two sections: inside and outside both are enjoyable (but beware of the cold air outside).
Overall, I highly recommend staying there, for a zen breakaway it's perfect.
Tips: there's a Lawson at walking distance (out the hotel follow the road taking your right then cross the bridge) I think using the tramway for moving around is best (one every 8 minutes,...
Read moreThis hotel is a relatively newer hotel . There is a huge free open carpark behind the hotel. Check in was fast . Welcome drinks were served. The twin rooms are very comfortable with good temperature control and firm beds. Wifi was fast. There was a bathtub and a area to sit down and shower just like in the onsen area. Two bottles of water were provided. |Dinner was good with snow crabs , sashimi like tuna , octopus , ikura etc . There was also a ramen section where you cook your own ramen . For desert , there was an assortment of cakes and ice cream . |Onsens were new and relatively empty. The bathing area was adequately lit . The only drawback was that only one type of shampoo and conditioner was available . There was a long indoor onsen . Outdoor onsens had a long sort of infinity pool , another pool and two barrel tubs . The onsens were clean and new and quiet. There was also a resting area that looked out over the city at night . What would make the experience better would be perhaps popsicles could be offered for all to enjoy after the onsen. |Breakfast was good . |Overall a very comfortable and reasonably priced stay near an Aeon mall and fantastic...
Read moreThis is a very specific onsen hotel that targets seafood and onsen enthusiasts. The location is a short distance from the airport but not much else, making it ideal for a relaxing but short amount of time where you go nowhere but the hotel. The rooms are slightly on the smaller side but the furnishings are new and clean. Note that only the more expensive rooms face the ocean, although I decided the mountains were a more interesting view anyhow. The onsen is clean and big enough to accomodate a large number of people, but I would still recommend avoiding the crowds by going early in the morning (7am) or afternoon (4pm). The seafood buffet is on the same price as a meal at a fancy restaurant, but it does allow you to sample many different fresh seafood and go back for more once you find something you like. If you are already familiar with seafood or you are a pickier eater, this is not for you. Overall I thought this was a lovely stay and I would recommend only one or two nights stay unless you are...
