La Vista Hakodate Bay Annex — Hotel in Hakodate

Amazing hotel. Spacious room. Great and prompt service. Very good location. Great amenities and amazing breakfast, one of the best i have had in Japan. The spread was so diverse and large! And everything was top notch. Especially the sashimi and freshly grilled scallops. I mean, we weren’t able to try everything even though we wanted to!! I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you plan to visit Hakodate. Mentioning other highlights below: They have public (open to guests only) and 3 private onsen that guests can use. These are amazing and very relaxing after a really cold and long day. You can track if the private onsen is available through a link. It’s very convenient and accurate and we were able to use the private onsen twice in our two night stay The rooms are spacious and well equipped. They also provide clothes and a winter jacket along with slippers that you can wear in the hotel. There are two views that you get from the hotel, view of the mountain range and view of the city. Our room had the city view and you could set the ocean on a day with clear skies. Complimentary ramen daily in the club lounge for all guests, from 9.30pm-10.30pm. The newer of the two la vista hotels. Was relatively quiet during my stay. Booked a suite with the balcony onsen, which was excellent and truly hot spring water. Nice view from the balcony. Hotel staff were polite and helpful. Location was good, a short walk from the jr station, about 15 minutes in the snow, but probably quicker without ice on the sidewalks. Included breakfast was very good as well, quality ingredients and ample tables. Only downside’s were that the bed was very hard, though we were still able to get a good nights rest. Phone in the hotel room does not dial out at all, no local calls or anything only room to room. Price was a bit high for the area all things considered but the room was quite large and the bathroom floors are all heated except for outside.

Make note, brown towels in the room are for hot springs water as the water seems to be high in iron and will leave brown residue on the white towels.

Would definitely stay here again, dormy brand hotels have been pretty consistent in quality everywhere I’ve stayed in...

・チェックイン チェックインは15時〜になっていますが、実際にはもっと早い時間帯からチェックインの手続きができるようです。

案内通り15時にチェックイン手続きをしたところ、夕食の19:30の席は満席、17:30しか選択できませんでした。

翌日、午前中に荷物預け〜チェックインの手続きをされていた方を見たので、夕食の時間帯を選びたいならチェックインの時間は参考にならないです。

・客室 ホテルがオープンしてから年数が経っていないこともあり、綺麗な室内です。空調の嫌な臭いも無く、埃っぽく無く満足です。部屋の広さや見通しも良く、とても快適に過ごす事ができました。

・夕食(1泊目) 和風会席とオーダー制のお寿司でした。お寿司に予算を割いているのか、お料理は、"〜替わり"にグレードダウンしています。しゃぶしゃぶは美味しく頂けました。(ごまポン酢が美味しい)

お寿司は私の口には合いませんでした。会席料理の味を崩したくないのか、インバウンド需要を意識しているのか不明ですが、酢飯の酸味が非常に薄く、ほぼ白米のようなものです。ネタの嫌な臭みが際立つシャリです。

0.シャリ:酢飯は弱くネタの生臭さを引っ張り出すかのような味。インバウンド需要を意識して酢飯を薄くしているのかもしれませんが、ほぼ白米です。回転寿司で食べた方が何倍も美味しいです。

1.本鮪:水っぽく本鮪らしい味は薄い。

2.ネギトロ:明らかな解凍品。マグロスムージー？と思うぐらい水っぽいです。

3.ズワイガニ:蟹としての味が非常に薄い。身から滲み出るジューシーさも無いです。

4.帆立:やや小ぶり、恐らく冷玉、こちらも帆立としての濃厚な甘さは無く、並。

5.甘エビ:ごくごく一般的な甘エビです。他のネタが残念だったので美味しく感じました。

6.間八:唯一脂がのっており、歯応えも良く美味しかったです。

ドリンクには余市のハイボールを注文。やや薄いな〜と思っていると、担当の方から"お酒のお味は大丈夫でしょうか？もし薄ければ作り直します"と。こればかりは好みもあるので申し訳ないなと思いつつもお願いしました。作り直して下さったものはしっかりと味があり、美味しく頂くことができました。

お寿司のバッド評価を払拭するかのような絶妙且つ素敵な対応でした。お料理の説明も細かくして下さり、素敵な対応でした。

・夕食(2泊目) オーダー寿司から天ぷらの盛り合わせに変更。しゃぶしゃぶはすき焼き。会席料理の品は"替わり"から通常のお料理に変わります。

1泊目が非常に残念だったので期待薄でしたが、2泊目のお料理はいずれも美味しく、ボリュームもあり素晴らしかったです。

お造りの質も良く、初日のお寿司のネタは何だったの？と思うぐらいの差があります。ボタンエビもピンとした張りがあり美味しく、大トロも嫌な臭みも少なく美味しかったです。

お寿司に強いこだわりが無いのであれば、可能なら2泊目のメニューを希望するのも良いかと思います。

担当者は初日とは変わり、お料理の説明が少ない方でした。これはなんだろう？と思うこともあり、まぁこんなものかと諦めました。

・朝食(1〜2泊目) 全体的に満足です。品数は決して多くありませんが、概ね満足するラインナップです。ただ、ししゃもなどの焼き物は冷たく乾いており、美味しく無かったです。これなら普通の保温可能な容器に入れておいて欲しいです。

お刺身は1泊目のお寿司よりは美味しいです。いくらはやや塩気の強い味付けでした。もう少し薄い方が美味しく沢山食べられそうです。

・貸切露天風呂 3種類全て入りましたが、いずれも気持ちよく過ごす事ができました。宿泊のタイミングによっては取り合いになる可能性、また家族同士で連絡を取り合い、一つの露天風呂を占領していた方が居たので、今後マナーが低下するなら対策を講じなければいけないかもしれません。

待合所にベンチがありますが、後から入ってきた方が私達を抜かして、風呂内の家族と交代する様子を見た時は正直「は？」と。

・夜鳴きそば こちらも案内のあった時間のいくと、既に食べている方で満席、並んでいる状況でした。チェックインの時もそうでしたが、こちらのホテルで案内される時間は全く当てになりません。案内通りに真面目に行動すると損します。

・総評 新しく綺麗なホテル、食事に力を入れており、今後函館市内のホテルとして上位に食い込むのかもしれませんが、細々とした点の残念さが際立っており、特に時間に関する管理が非常にルーズ。
