Sakamoto Ryoma Memorial Museum — Attraction in Hakodate

In Hakodate, there is the Sakamoto Ryoma Memorial Hall. Sakamoto Ryoma was a Japanese samurai, a shishi and influential figure of the Bakumatsu, and establishment of the Empire of Japan in the late Edo period.

I was confused, Sakamoto Ryoma was born in Shikoku and died in Kyoto, what does it have to do with #Hokkaido? I looked up Wikipedia and couldn't find the answer, so I paid 800 yen 💴 to go to the memorial hall to find out.

Sakamoto Ryoma's involvement in Hokkaido colonization began in 1864, but he withdrew from the plan due to the impact of the Ikedaya Incident. After establishing Kaientai, he procured the ship "Wild Wave" for the journey, which tragically sank, taking 12 lives. His subsequent attempts with "Iroha-maru" and "Daigyokumaru" also failed due to unfortunate accidents and payment issues. This series of setbacks ended with Ryoma's assassination, leaving his dream of Hokkaido colonization unfulfilled. まず朝8時から開館しているのが良かったです。 竜馬の事が良くわかります。北海道の竜馬ファンはぜひ訪れてください！

あと日本刀がたくさん展示してあるので、そちらもなかなか見観る事ができないので興味深かったです。 ただやはりなんと言うか、マガマガしさはありますね。輝きがちょっと恐いと言うか妖しいと言うか、まあ刀ですからね。

しかし、「刀は人を斬るためにあらず、己の邪心を切る」 と言う言葉が飾られており、刀を恐ろしいと思うのは己の邪心から来るものなのか? などと思いながら観て来ました。

売店では、竜馬グッズや幕末志士のグッズが売っているので買物して来ました。

あと館長さんとても良い人です。 僕は今回スズキの刀と言うバイクで訪れたのですが、その話しをすると「写真撮っても良いですか」 となってしばらくお話しさせていただきました（笑）

ご近所なので、坂本龍馬記念館に行って来ました。 徒歩20分ぐらいのところにあります。

館内入って受付で、¥800-をお支払い。 入り口は、撮影可で、ワンフロワー内から、 写真撮影禁止みたいです。 一階ぐるりと、一周。 初めて、本物の刀を見ました。 なんか綺麗なお魚みたいでした。

で、今回の本題。 実は、自分、神奈川県横須賀市から、 引っ越して来た者で、ご近所に、龍馬さんとお龍さんの、 お墓があり、不思議な縁がありました。 函館に来て、えっ、て、 今回、晴れて、坂本龍馬さんと、お龍さんが、また、 ひとつに、出会い、結ばれたような、気がしました。 めでたしめでたし。
