Stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience. The staffs were welcoming and helpful. The place is very well equipped to welcome the ski resort visitors. They have a dedicated drying room for your boards and boots which gets blasted with heat overnight, and the drying rack by the heater made it easy to dry the rest of our gears. The bus to Goryu has a stop right in front the pension (you cannot find the bus on Google Maps though) and connects to the Hakuba Valley shuttle at Goryu Escal Plaza. Read moreThe only possible issue I found with Kurumi Pension was that being 6'6" (198cm) using the stairs and the doorways are a little tricky ducking, however the slight discomfort is well worth a visit the host and his family are wonderful people, and staying here you get a discount with Wimpy Box a ski and snowboard rental shop just down the road from Hakuba-Gyoru Escal plaza. My favorite place to stay in the 8 months I've lived in Japan. Read moreCant give this place enough stars!! Wonderful japanese style living but still extremely welcoming to western travelers. The food is amazing and would highly recommend having dinner here (¥2500 for 6 course feast) before venturing to the many nearby fantastic restaurants nearby. Staff are welcoming and friendly with pretty good English and the goryu ski resort is 5min walk away if you cant wait for the free shuttles that stop right outside.
