I'm starting off, with arriving at the Kagoshima airport.||You can take a limo bus from airport to Kagoshima itself, not sure of the stops, but Tenmonkan stop which would be closest to the hotel. Reason of my uncertainty is because our flight was running late and had to pay for a taxi (over 100 yen, surcharge on top, for the time we left the airport). My friend and I took the limo bus from the Tenmonkan stop to the airport, after my time in Kagoshima, which was roughly $13.||||With our flight running late, the hotel emailed me and was concerned if I would be arriving to the hotel. Which was very nice of them to check. And I did respond to let them know of our situation.||Upon our arrival they greeted us and asked if we were okay. They went over a few things about the hotel and because we had the breakfast included with our stay, they let us know, that we have to pick up our breakfast tickets from the front desk the day before/ night before. The staff's knowledge of the English language was pretty good and enough to get by. Again the staff are very polite, friendly, and very helpful.||||Now for the room. The room is not a bad size. It might seem a little small for western standards, but for myself and my friend it was enough. We also had a large tub off onto the balcony and it was very relaxing to lay in. I stand at 6'-2" (188cm) and could relax in this tub quite comfortably. The bed was firm but very comfortable to sleep on and so were the pillows. The bathroom was very clean and all the amenities you need, to keep yourself clean and ready to go. The shower head was adjustable and handy for a person of my height.||||The restaurant that we ate at for breakfast, that's inside the hotel, on the second floor, was a great place to start off your morning. FYI, it can be tricky finding this place. Look for the sliding door against the wall upon exiting the elevator, slide over the door and there is your entrance into the restaurant. The layout was really nice and the breakfast was very good. A great variety of foods to have, with unlimited coffee, juice, milk, and water to drink. The staff was excellent and the food was amazing.||||If you are a smoker, there are two floor to which you can smoke. I would recommend going to the ninth floor. It is sort of like being on a balcony with great views of Sakurajima Island. You can also sit and relax on the tenth floor with the same views as well.||||I find this hotel a great place to stay. Great location, great staff, comfortable beds, and the prices were very fare. It might not be to some peoples standards because it is not as open as western style rooms, but it is very functional and...

Read moreMy worst hotel experience in Japan. It's a small hotel which I knew at the time of booking. Reason to chose this one because it's close to the terminal and I got an early departure Toppy to catch. I booked the tatami room which is bigger than other western style rooms in this hotel. Well, it's still very small. Seems they renovated recently and the cabinet smells stinky which is rather rare in Japan. Aircon noise is way too loud. I had to turn off the aircon mid of the night just in order to get to sleep. Sound proofing is nearly inexistent because every car passing by the building can be heard loud and clear. |Staff is polite and ok because this is in Japan. While I paid around JPY19,000 for such a room in Kagoshima which is really low value for money. |I can not give...
