Indeed, Smile Hotel Kanazawanishiguchiekimae left an incredible smile in our hearts and minds because of our Winter Wonderful stay at his hotel last month. The city of Kanazawa itself surprised us a lot in so many ways and this hotel gave as a fantastic seal of approval that we will be again back in this Magical Wintry Wonderful city. Located just 10 mins walk from the West exit of JR Kanazawa station opposite the iconic Tsuzumimon Gate. And despite being Winter, the path is pretty easy there is a defined pedestrian pathway with no stairs or uphill to pass through. We booked a Double non-smoking room via Agoda at just 155 SGD for 2 nights what a great deal it was!!! Also at 15 m2 it is one of the largest rooms in any hotel we’ve booked in Japan!!! It was a snowy day when we arrived in the city last Feb and after taking a couple of photos at the famous gate and walking our way on a snowy path we checked-in just on time at 2 PM, one of the few hotels who allow this time to check-in much to our delights. Check-in was smooth and easy and we were booked at 10F. They provide complimentary toiletries, coffee/tea & sleeping robes before the life near their restaurant for you own pleasure. The hotel just like other Japanese ones provide Coin laundry, Restaurant, and Travel brochures around Kanazawa area. Lift was not crowded and we got into our room fast and easy. Just as expected our room was impeccable - Japanese world class cleanliness, neatness and tidiness greeted us together with the most magical wonderful view of the snowy city right before our eyes!!!||Despite the window far away on the other end of the room, that’s the first thing we’ve noticed upon entering because of the sunny, snowy, spectacular view of the city outside. And to make our room more memorable and magical it was snowing when we arrived!!! The room’s tone is Earthy - shades and pastels of White and Brown which compliments the overall tone of the hotel. Upon entering, the room is overall Ochre carpeted which add warmth and cozyness to the overall vibes!!! There is a wardrobe and luggage space to your left with clothes hanger, fabric spray, luggage rack and shoehorn. Their Japanese style automatic toilet is right next and is one of the most spacious once we have in Japan - in fact 2 people can use it at the same time with still have space left. Water pressure is strong and heating is working perfectly. Tub is easy to fill and drain and at 5 feet 3 inches I can stretch my legs that long enough. We tried the hot tub nightly and we got really refreshed and relaxed!!! As standards with Japanese toilets, they provide full on containers for body wash/shampoo. They provide clean towels and replenish daily and what’s unique with their sink is that hole is on the right which makes the water to drain faster - what a clever idea!!! Across the toilet is a full body mirror. WIFI is fast and TV only has local channels. Airconditioning and heating are not centralized so meaning we can regulate our room temperature. The double bed/blanket/pillows are thick/fluffy/smooth and very clean. Just the right firmness and softness we got a very good night and relaxing sleep here. But wait what’s more we loved about our bed right before our Eyes we could see the snow falling day and night in our stay here what a magical/wonderful sight it was!!! We felt more than 5 star hotel experience with this really tops off the list of our stay here in Kanazawa!!! There are power and USB outlets on the right side of the bed and narrow compartments enough to put your personal things and belongings.||Across the right side of the bed is the Brown/Wooden study table and Flat screen TV. This is where the fridge is located/kettle/cups/power outlets and many more compartments. This is our 3rd happy place after the bed and tub because after a busy day trips in Shirakawa and Kanazawa most of the time we had our dinners here and we loved it here!!!! The hotel doesn’t have indoor onsen but they recommended the nearby Apa Hotel Kanazawa Ekimae just outside the JR station, which I took nightly at just 1000 Yen for 3 hrs in their huge 2 floors relaxing/fantastic indoor/outdoor onsen with different types of hot and cold pools one of the biggest I’ve experienced in an APA hotel!!! I finally got to experience an outdoor Onsen experience with snow and while the snow is falling what another magical, memorable and relaxing experience indeed!!! Upon check out they will provide 4 Origamis if you answered their survey which I did and I got 4 colorful Star Origamis Arigato neh!!! Finally, we plan to have breakfast in our last day upon checkout but because we woke up late we have to catch our train to Toyama so we missed it!!! Regardless, after our Winter trip in Japan travelling across Hokuriku, Smile Hotel Kanazawa and the city of Kanazawa is by far our most favourite and kept calling our hearts and minds to come back!!! Surely we will definitely be back soon Kanazawa and we know where to book now - Smila Hotel Kanazawanishiguchiekimae!!! Arigato Gozaimasu!!!...
Read moreThe hotel's location was a major plus, being very close to the station and situated in a quiet neighborhood. The laundry room was well-equipped with separate washers and dryers, making it easy to do laundry. The room itself was clean and spacious, perfect for two people with luggage. The staff was friendly and informative, explaining their eco-friendly approach to housekeeping. The toilet's bidet and warming functions were a welcome luxury. The breakfast offered a good variety of Western and Japanese options. However, there were a few minor drawbacks. The absence of complimentary mineral water was a bit disappointing, especially considering the price point. The pillows were a bit too firm for our preference, though the staff was accommodating in providing additional pillows upon request. Lastly, the Wi-Fi connectivity was inconsistent and often slow. Despite these minor issues, the hotel provided a comfortable and convenient stay. With a few improvements, such as providing complimentary water and enhancing the Wi-Fi, this hotel could be...
Read moreRoom was not very big but it was adequate for two with creative juggling of bags. There were cups, kettle and fridge. There were no spoons for stirring your drinks esp seeing that they provide powdered match which you pick up from the service "trolley". You have to request for them. You can get another pillow from front desk if 1 is insufficient. I like the antibacterial spray that they provided in the room - very handy. There's also a small coffee table and 2 chairs. Location is great if you are coming from the station. Also a big plus was the onsite laundry room - comes with automatic detergent. Heater could not be adjusted below 21C and the room would go up to 24C. But overall it was comfortable and...
