I’ve been twice to this place now with very different experiences each time! The first time we went I think they hadn’t been open long or the staff were new because there was a big problem with paying. We went as a large group and paid for our individual meals ( which they said we could do) but they weren’t then marking them off the bill once they were paid for so there were three people left with still the whole bill to pay. At that time the staff didn’t speak English or Japanese very well so we couldn’t explain we’ve already paid and they put us on the phone with the owner to explain?
I went a second time recently and it’s definitely improved. They managed to squeeze us in on a very busy Friday night , the staff were kind and tried their best to communicate with us as much as possible!
The online menu is a little difficult to understand but going by the pictures isn’t too bad!
The food is always delicious!
I hope this improvement is permanent and I’ll...
Read moreSorry, but this has been the worst vietnamese restaurant I have ever been to. We don't agree with the positive ratings at all. Tasteless summer rolls, soggy egg rolls and a terrible terrible roasted duck. The meat was like chewing gum and the skin was soggy and chewy as well. Also there are still bones in it, which would be acceptable if that's just the way they eat it here, if the rest would have been at least ok. Also it was cold? Another thing are the prices. On the website the duck is promoted for 850 yen. On the English menu in the restaurant it's 1200 yen and in the end it costs around 1600 yen, almost twice as much as on the website. Besides there is no real explanation that you need to order by scanning the QR code. We just found out by coincidence. Overall really not a good experience, even the plum wine was terrible, it just tasted bitter and sour as it was...
Read moreWe are tourists from Australia, we eat quite alot of viet food and must say this restaurant compares very closely to being a great Vietnamese restaurant for locals and overseas tourists. We had the pho which is very northern style (clean broth) as well as the rice paper rolls and the spring rolls. All of those were great and very flavourful. The negatives was the bahn mi, not enough pate and vegetables inside it felt like there was a lot more bread than filling.
In Sydney Australia this restaurant would receive a 4, but in Japan I would rate this a 5.
Banh Xeo was also one best in Australia and Japan ever had.
Atmosphere and customer service was very friendly towards tourists. Easy...
