Had the hitsumabushi set that came with one free alcoholic drink. The grilled eel was ridiculously good. Crispy. Delicate. And absolutely flavourful on its own. With the set, you can try the eel 3 different ways: 1) on its own 2) with the three toppings of furikake, green onion, and wasabi, and 3) in broth.
Treat yourself and splurge. Make a reservation because it is a small and cozy restaurant. Most importantly, arrive hungry. It's a solid meal.

The texture of unagi is just right crisp in the outside and soft on the inside just like I like. In Hitsumabushi, you can try varieties of way to eat unagi, with wasabi, spring onions, seaweeds or tea. I would say it’s really worth the price, for 5,000 yen, the portion is relatively large. We love this restaurant because there are so many private seating tables and bar tables. The eel here is also very fresh and delicious, and I love the seasonings you can add onto the eel - there is a zesty lemony seasoning you can add to the eel/rice!
The tempura set was also very delicious! It came with 2 shrimps, 2 white fish, eggplant, shishito pepper, sweet potato and squash!
