This hotel does not treat its customers as human beings at all. I have never seen such a disrespectful hotel in so many countries, arrogant and full of insults to its customers. Worst hotel stay of my life. As the most important hot spring hotel in this hotel was damaged and not open before check-in, the hotel did not send a message before check-in, otherwise we could choose another hotel with independent hot springs. Hotel room at night when we were getting ready to rest, we found four or five cockroaches crawling out of the ceiling and floor, we were scared, I sent an email and called the staff for help at the first time, but no one replied, we had no way to deal with the problem or change the hotel at night in this village. We as customers packed our suitcases for a night without closing our eyes and looking at the cockroaches on the ceiling and floor. When we checked out the next morning, we told the staff that I was unwilling to pay for my room because of the poor sanitary conditions and service quality. In such a serious situation, the hotel manager first told me that I could only be exempted from the dinner charge, and then the manager suddenly lied and told me that I could only be exempted from the dinner drink charge. Yes, you heard that right, and the price of the drinks in the dinner was 600 yen, I did not expect to receive such lies and insults in this hotel where I spent 80,000 yen. The hotel had no reason to detain the customer. 4.I found it ridiculous that after stating that I did not need the waived drink fee, I decided to pay my order in full and left to catch my train at the station, only to be told by the hotel that I was being held!! Yes, the hotel reported a customer to the police and detained me ๏ผ๏ผ๏ผ๏ผ after I fully paid my bill and spent a night in a cockroach infested room I asked them why they called the police on purpose, and the hotel manager said that because we were trouble to them, so they called the police privately. 5.At this time, we took out the video of the cockroaches and showed it to the police again, and the manager repeatedly apologized to us. Wasting my life over and over again. I feel offended on all sides. Please๏ผ๏ผ๏ผask foreign not to go...
ย ย ย Read moreWe took a taxi from Shin-Kobe to this hotel. The smooth ride was about 30 mins and costs about 95000 Y. We booked two rooms on the second floor, one with dinner and one without. There are nine rooms in this intimate cosy, well-maintained old building. |Location|It has a great location, at the end of a shopping street and very close to the public onsen, Kin no Yu springs, with the reddish brown water full of iron. Nearby is the bus station to Osaka etc and the Arima Toy Museum. Also within walking distance is Taiko Street to Shinsui Park along Arima River.|Rooms and facilities|Our rooms are large with seats in the balcony and the old-fashioned retro television. Entrance to our room is by using a password. There is a coffee machine on each floor and capsules are provided in our rooms beside the green teas. We wore the yukata and coat to the nearby sister hotel, Goshobo, to use their hotsprings. There is a hair-dryer in our toilet.|Hotsprings|There are two hotsprings baths, Kaedero and Tsutabas, on the first floor from 3 pm to 11 am the next day. The door can be locked once you are inside. On each floor, there are two lights to indicate its availability. I would also strongly recommend the the Goshobonai public bath which is 3 mins walk away. It is available to us from 3pm to 8 pm and is on the second floor. The water has high iron and sodium chloride content. There is an inner section for privacy and we ventured out to the outer area because there was no men using the men's onsen at that time.|Meals|There are many courses for dinner and it was too much food for us. My sister and nephew went to the nearby Kutsurogiya for dinner. Breakfast was delicious and healthy with rice, vegetables, fish, tofu, seaweeds.|Service|The staff are friendly and some could speak English well. They did their best to cater to our food's request. They provided a detailed orientation of the hotel when we checked in. They helped us with the luggages during check-in and check-out.|Overall, I would strongly recommend a stay here when visiting Arima Onsen for the great location and...
ย ย ย Read moreOverall, my overnight stay was pretty good. In terms of other ryokan I have stayed, this one is average, but still better than a lot of other hotels around the world. The room was clean (spotless), comfortable, and had everything I needed. My room was at the end of the hall and, because of the location, the wi-fi was non-existent. To use the wi-fi, I hung out in the lobby. The lobby didn't have lounge chairs or anything like that. It was just a couple of chairs. ||||There are two bathrooms with hot spring water and the two are shared by the eight rooms in the building. They advertise that you can use the bath in the main hotel in another building, but they're only available until 8pm. The availability is useless since the dinner meal will also end at 8pm. I guess you can use those facilities during the day.||||Dinner and breakfast was very good, but not stunning. (I was expecting Michelin Bib Gourmand or 1-star at least.) The staff was very helpful in arranging a taxi to take me to the famous night views on the mountain and explaining the facilities when I checked-in. On check-out, I received the usual Japanese hospitality.||||Would I stay here again? Probably not. At this price, I would try my luck at another ryokan and experience something different.||||If I could, my overall rating would be 3.5 stars so...
