Misono — Restaurant in Kobe

Despite the small space and limited seats, it gives intimate experience with the owners. The location is a bit away from the main shopping area where that area offers more restaurants with more crowded tourists. This place is awesome.

They offer humble curry options with various drink options to choose from. As we were so hungry for lunch and hadn't had curry for a while, our curries were so delicious. The flavor was great, the onsen egg is the best complimentary.

We had Asahi Zero because it was our first time to drink beers (including non-alcoholic ones because my husband doesn't drink alcohol) and it gave a clean aftertaste, best for cleaning the 'heavy' mouth-feeling when you eat curry ragout - especially when we came there during early summer.

This is a must-eat if you’re staying in Arima Onsen and want somewhere to stop after walking around the shops. The noodles are made in house - so thick and chewy that there’s practically a pearly quality to them - and the curry is the perfect level of spice and flavour. The suki beef order is fantastic (tendons! wow!) and the couple (not sure if they’re a romantic couple or just a couple of buds) owners/proprietors manage to get a sharp, crackly crust on the tonkatsu. Misono was one of the highlights of my trip to Arima Onsen. The small, intimate dining experience of 10 maximum seats was coupled by an incredible selection of Belgian beers & very well crafted food to match. Whether you get the chefs special, Kuroge wagyu, grilled meat skewers or curry udon you will NOT be disappointed. A spot for the friendly locals & travelers alike. Warm, welcoming hospitality from the owners. Misono has cemented itself in my memories within my trip to Japan. I can't wait till I go back.
