5 star hotel service! Very accommodating for non-japanese speakers. Little English is spoken and written but are accustomed to using translators. Stayed for 3 days. We choose to have dinner and breakfast. Everyday was a different meal. Lots of fresh fish and traditional Japanese meals.
Onsen is men and women sperate. Even the private baths that are available for an additional fee(under construction at time of writing). Best time to go is at 2 just after it's been closed for cleaning if you are wanting a more likely private experience.
Room is very spacious. Honestly one of the biggest rooms I've ever stayed in. Beds are firm and are separate but can roll and move together easily. Little sound proofing for any noise in hallway. Nights were very quiet.
Things to know: Hotel location is a 10 minute walk from the main attraction. There are several way to get there. All of it is uphill. So be aware of that.
Meals are small portions. But a lot. Always left very full. They will likely ask you what time you want cleaning, breakfast and dinner during your meal. There is a onsen fee for each day. 300 yen. They are very very nice!
Will likely stay again if ever in...

The ryokan's guest were all japanese but they made our stay just as accommodating. |When we arrived at the bus terminal, the email told us to call them to pick us up and they came in 5 minutes (tip: we asked the staff at the hostel before to write down how to say come pick us up from bus stop). |The staff showed us all we needed to know and also gave us very clear directions to visit the tourist attractions. |The rooms were traditional Japanese tatami rooms with private toilet. And they provided the correct size of yukatas for us to roam around in around the Ryokan and also on the streets. Especially important when going to the onsen (which was amazing) and meals (very extravagant dinner and breakfast which made us very full - as expected from the rave reviews by the locals) which were included in the whole Ryokan...
