TLDR; racist attitude from male server.
I speak Japanese fluently and am of East Asian descent so one normally would not assume me to be non-Japanese. I went to eat here with my mother who does not speak Japanese, and so we communicated between us in English. Note that I did use Japanese with the server. There was only one server, a male, serving tables when we went in, and there were maybe 3 other tables all already served when we entered. His attitude appeared normal at first, but when I called him over to order for myself and my mother (in Japanese), he suddenly gave me a cold look and wrote my order then left without saying a word. I didn't think much of it at first but when the food came he again didn't say a word and just threw the trays on our table. Whereas, while our food was being prepared, a Japanese family had come in and sat at the table next to ours. His attitude was COMPLETELY different. He was warm and enthusiastic towards them. He brought their food over and carefully placed each tray on their table while saying what each dish was in Japanese. I may be biased, but dare I say that even though they had ordered the same food and portion sizes as us, their portions of beef looked larger. When it was time to pay, we brought our trays over to the tray return area. The server came to us and took the tray out of my hand while my mother was putting hers away and again threw mine. He actually threw it so hard it went through and fell from the other side, when he could have just quietly placed it on the rack. It was cash only, so I put the cash on the tray at the register and gave him the bill, and he took it without a word and pointed at the register monitor to show the price in a way that looked like he was belittling me. That in itself is not a bad thing, but the way he did it was appalling. He stayed silent the entire time even though I had spoken to him in Japanese multiple times.
This was the first time I have ever been ridiculed to this extent in Japan. I advise not eating here if: you are not fluent in Japanese, do not look Japanese, and/or are bringing anyone who does not meet BOTH aforementioned conditions.
On a better note, I think that the food that we ate looked more appetising than some of the photos from several years ago, so I guess they may have improved in that area. Still not coming back here as long as that male...

Read moreThe server (gentleman who spoke to us in English) was extremely polite. The dish was very yummy, we were grateful as many places were not open past 2pm. The meat was delicious and priced very well for the set.
We ordered 3 meals however were only given 2, we checked our bill to find we were charged for the 2. Ended up sharing our meals with our kids because...
