Just concluding my trip as I write this review. Niseko Kyo is definitely top grade. I booked through the Luxe Nomad which is the management team / agency of this property and many others of the same group. This agency has also been very top notch from a service stand point.
Back to the hotel...it is actually more of an apartment set up than a hotel...this is their second season in operation. Located right at the bottom of a family lift in Hirafu (would say it's on the left side of Hirafu). A perfect ski-in ski-out acommodation. It's also near to all the resturants, cafes and convenient stores. I highly recommend to parties who may have one / two beginner skiers / snowboarders. They can learn on the family sloop and walk straight back to the acommodation to rest or take a break. It's also a great spot for experienced skiers / snowboarders to finish the day skiing straight back to the acommodation.
Room / Apartment: We had a one bedroom apartment which is very very comfortable with a private onsen inside. Well equiped kitchen. They also have a washer and dryer which is extremely convenient. This was a pleasant surprise to us. Design and comfort is 5-star. My only feedback would be the bed could be a touch more comfortable.
Service: 5 star. Zero question. Everyone here is extremely friendly, acommodating and helpful. They offer you a private transfer to anywhere in Niskeo. Didn't get a chance to ask if they will take us to different parts outside of Niseko. Super warm and comfortable vibe.
Public Onsen: Aside from the private onsen, they also offer a public onsen with a sauna. A great way to just warm up after a day of skiing / snowboarding. Hit the sauna then sink into the onsen. A great way to relax.
Food: This is perhaps the only negative I would comment. The restaurant is run independently to the hotel / apartment. It is not bad but just does not match the standard of the rest of the acommodation. The resturant is very very friendly and lovely. However, it is just the quality of the food which is a bit disappointing. I am a big foodie so my comment here could be a touch bias. Don't expect a breakfast which will wow your day.
Overall: This is a great acommodation. No doubt it is 5-star. I will sure come back again or check out others within the same group. I...
Read moreWe recently had a fantastic experience staying at NISEKO Kyo Hotel during our group ski trip. With a party of nine people, we were amazed by the exceptional service provided by Duncan, the hotel staff member who took care of us throughout our stay.
From the moment we arrived, Duncan made us feel welcomed and ensured that all our needs were met. He went above and beyond to provide us with a personalized room tour, giving us a detailed introduction to the hotel and its amenities. His knowledge and enthusiasm were evident as he showcased the various features of our rooms, making us feel comfortable and well-informed.
Speaking of the rooms, they were absolutely delightful. Spacious, clean, and beautifully designed, they offered a cozy and luxurious atmosphere that was perfect for our group. The attention to detail was remarkable, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches that made our stay all the more enjoyable. One of the highlights was the breathtaking view from our room, which overlooked the majestic Mount Yotei. Waking up to such a stunning sight was truly unforgettable and added an extra touch of magic to our stay.
The hotel itself is situated in a prime location, allowing easy access to the slopes. The ski-in, ski-out convenience was a major plus for us, as we could effortlessly hit the slopes each day. Additionally, the hotel's facilities, such as the on-site spa and restaurant, provided the perfect balance of relaxation and indulgence after a day of skiing.
Furthermore, the staff at NISEKO Kyo Hotel were friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any requests or questions we had. Their warm hospitality and genuine care made us feel like valued guests throughout our stay.
Overall, our experience at NISEKO Kyo Hotel was exceptional, thanks in large part to the outstanding service provided by Duncan. From the meticulously designed rooms to the convenient location and stunning views, everything exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay in Niseko. We can't wait to return and create more wonderful memories at...
Read moreWe went as a family of six, ages 13 to 84, just after Christmas and left on new year’s. Two weeks later, we are still regretting leaving! 😅
Location is unbeatable: fabulous ski-in/ski-out access, great ski valets, walking distance from stores and restaurants. While we can’t credit the hotel for the weather, it merits mentioning: the most beautiful powder for days on end. A true winter wonderland.
The apartment we got could sleep 10 comfortably and had two of its own private onsen (which we really prefer), one with an amazing view of the slopes and it was superb: new, clean, amazing views slope-side. Modern kitchen with everything you need and a washing machine and drier. Lots of wonderful touches like some basic necessities (some bread and cereal) greeted us when we arrived, which were available to order ahead of time in various packages. There was also some lovely sake and biscuits as a welcome gift!
The two (very minor) quibbles I have are: 1) while there is ample closet space, some of it is distributed a little oddly (hardly any shelves or drawers so folded items and socks were tough to organize and some rooms had very little while shared hallway closets were immense) and 2) considering it’s such a ski haven, perhaps a larger rack for hanging wet/sweat clothes would be good.
The staff were all lovely and helpful and pleasant and ready with tips and suggestions. Lisa and Yolanda at the front desk were incredibly helpful before, during and even after our stay, as was the concierge, who showed Olympian-level patience with us as we had to reschedule some reservations. Our drivers (Duncan, Harry, Marcus in particular) were efficient and kind, making sure the elder in our group was well assisted and chatting amicably with the younger kids and assisting us with various runs to obtain/adjust/obtain more ski equipment as well as restaurant runs. Their team also always had our equipment ready, and took care of picking up, storing and returning everything.
All in all: HIGHLY recommend! We’re all...
