This was our second time staying at the Vale, Niseko and we love this hotel. It has a boutique and luxury feel.
The hotel has a great location at the bottom of the hill with a chair. Ski in ski out, but between both top and bottom half of town for restaurant options. A block from Family marts and food trucks. Shuttle to Hanazono right out front.
The rooms are incredible, especially the three bedroom private onsen. It has ruined us for future holidays!
Having a washing machine and dryer available was a saviour.
The rooms are modern, lounge room was big, dining table huge and the Onsen was incredible! Having heated hallway cupboard was great.
Tip: it would be awesome if sodastreams were available. Tip: an option for the rooms to be cleaned daily not every few days would be great, or at least a quick vacuum and bins emptied. The bins are tiny and travelling with kids you eat in a lot. There is a vacuum available - However, we have not paid 15k for a week to vacuum ourselves.
The car service was a real special touch especially having to get toddlers to and from the King Gondola base for ski lessons each day. We had the wonderful Tilly (Matilda) regularly drive us to collect the kids and their gear, to restaurants and to the ski hire stores. She was an absolute delight, professional and made our trip! Thankyou Tilly (and other staff who helped)
This service was a real special thing and made travelling around a ski town with toddlers seamless! We would have walked or used the lift outside if we didn't have them, but without this service, I am sure there would have been many toddler tantrums and stressed parents.
The concierge and front desk were very helpful with many of our questions!
Having our ski passes organised and available on arrival was great! it would be awesome if they could organise the ones for three year olds as well.
Nisade organised our transfers, they were also great!
We had our ski gear sent to the hotel ahead of our arrival and it was all available in our room as soon as we arrived.
The ski in ski out is fantastic for the adults!
The large three bedroom room with a HUGE dining table is a massive plus for those travelling with smaller children. The hotel is very close to convience stores and food trucks which made dinner easy to collect and have inside for the stress free option! Whilst having a beautiful view of people night skiing! and Being able to retire to the onsen whilst they were in the living room.
I would recommend that the lockers become heated for ski boots. Otherwise the lockers and ski racks are good.
My only real complaint has been the restaurant, and this is consistent with our previous experience in 2020, which is dissapointing.
My understanding is that the vale does not run it, however it does use its name and is attached. Therefore, I feel like the Nisade/The vale need to consider the impact and running of the restaurant.
The service was slow and not what I would expect from a hotel of this calibar.
We struggled to get service whilst staff had knocked off and sat at the bar drinking and talking to other staff working. We experienced the same thing in previous stays.
After a long wait for meals, one kids meal came out 20 mins before the next kids meal came out. We had to ask for the second kids meal and the middle of the burger bun was frozen, so then we had to wait longer for a new one. A restaurant should always get kids meals out together and quickly!! (and not cold)
The service certaintly does not match the cost of food and drinks.
Another time we were told "sorry we didnt know you were here" after being seated by another staff member in the bsckroom and then having to go find someone to take our order- twice.
Both times we were given free drinks or something to apologise for service, so they were aware. However, it would be great to see changes to the culture/service because they do not match the cost of the restaurant...
Read moreOur family ski holiday started with horrors when our luggage did not arrive. Communication with the airline was super difficult and mostly lost in transactions. When arrived at the Vale Niseko and informed Mirko about the incident, he immediately took this matter into his hand. He helped coordinate with the airline and with Yamato.||He continued to give us a status update throughout. A lovely hotel staff (thank you) collected our luggage from Yamato's Kutchan office and paid for the fees on our behalf. The fees were later paid out of our credit card which was on file. They did not charge us for the collecting fees at all. Mostly importantly, we did not have to lift a finger and could focus on enjoying our holiday .... thank you Mirko and the Vale Niseko team :) You all gave us a true five-star service and experience. The Vale Niseko is so lucky to have you guys.||Thank you again for giving us a wonderful and unforgettable stay at the Vale Niseko. We will not stay anywhere else next time we are there.||||Rooms: We stayed in a 3-bedroom apartment with a view of Mt.Yotei. It is super spacious, fully equipped with a fridge, electric hob, oven, toasting machine, dishwasher, laundry/dryer, Nespresso machine, kettle, fireplace, TV, Yamaha blue-tooth speaker, rice cooker and more!!!! We had breakfast and lunch in our apartment nice every day, which was super convenient. The bathroom is so spacious with an onsen feel. My hubby loves it so much he wants to have one built in our new home :)||||Nearby activities: Food trucks, bars, restaurants, bus stops, shopping||||Walkability: It is in a prime location, an easy stroll to the most important places; ski rental at Rhythym, food trucks, bars, restaurants, bus stop, etc. Ski-in and out ability - Ski-in yes as it is at the bottom of the Family Ace lift. For ski-out, you need to walk up a tiny slope - it does not bother us though.||||Food & drinks: Vale Bar and Grill is great. We had our dinner there. Food quality and service are great.||||Noteworthy details: Mr. Corbella, the GM, is the best hotel GM I have ever come across. I am a seasoned traveller and have stayed in many 5-star hotels around the world but I have yet to come across someone so dedicated and committed to his job and his clients like Mirko Corbella. The hotel staff are awesome. Every staff we came across during our 6 days of staying was truly exceptional. Public onsen is great! It is spacious, clean, beautiful and not...
Read moreMy experience at The Vale Niseko was overall fantastic, but there were some challenges being the end of the ski season that if we had been informed would have made us choose differently. My suggestion if going towards end of season check on what facilities/Resturants and lists are operating||||The ski-in ski out nature requires about 100m walk up a hill to the lift this may change with the new gondola being built. The lift closed and we required shuttles to the gondola which was painful as they only ran for parts of the day but most likely wouldn’t be an issue at peak season||||The accommodations were luxurious and well-equipped, we had a 2 Bedroom room with Mt Yotei view it was large and spacious and great for a family of four||||The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that all our needs were met throughout our stay.||||A special call out to all but 1 staff member who when booking our transfer back to Niseko said you need to do it 2 weeks i advance, which was blatant lie. ||||A special call out to 1 member of staff Charles Ruxton who personally fixed our transport issue. From the moment we arrived, Charles exuded professionalism and warmth. He greeted us with genuine enthusiasm, making us feel instantly welcomed and valued. Throughout our stay, Charles demonstrated a remarkable attention to detail, consistently going above and beyond to anticipate our needs and preferences.||HIs Affinity with our children and the love and care he showed was nothing short of truly wonderful. He is an absolute asset to the organisation||||As a Marriott Ambassador member that stay more than 150 nights in hotel per year I do not put this recommendation forward lightly he is truly one of the best||||You do need to be organised for everything like dinners, ski lessons, transfers. If you plan on hiring a car YOU MUST HAVE A PAPER INTERNATIONAL DRIVERS LICENCEE||||Despite these challenges, I would still recommend The Vale Niseko for its beautiful setting, comfortable accommodations, and overall excellent service. It's important to plan ahead if visiting during peak times to fully enjoy all that the resort...
