Absolute Niseko — Hotel in Kutchan

Recently finished our stay here and honestly I thought it was better then my initial expectations ha. Indeed the place is basic but has everything you need, I'd stay again!

We had a triple bed room and although the room wasn't huge it had ample pockets of space for small storage, which was a bonus since it meant each of us had a separate area for our belongings. It was also nice and warm but I agree some of the top bunks mattresses prob need replacing, I felt the springs in mine!

There's actually 3 separate private showers (2 being huge spaces, but 1 with a dodgy lock!) and they can be booked ahead and good thing was they were clean, never had a issue with queing for them either.

The very well equipped kitchen is prob the best part of the place, it was a industrial grade type kitchen with plenty of burners and twin ovens, everything u could need to cook your own meals. It was also a relief to see everyone cleans up after themselves after cooking, so there's no mess at all.

As mentioned, the place is mainly a language school, so expect to see a lot Japanese students practicing their English during the evenings, the in-house staff (who are from diff parts of the world and some locals) were also super friendly and helpful too!

The location is also great, with a shortcut to the family chair in about 5 mins as well as a quick access to the main road which leads to the intersection or the...

It has one of the best locations in the village with a lift right outside of the lodge or the main lift a little bit further up the road. Lot's of other accommodations are much further away and it's nice not having to catch a bus or having to walk to far.||||Close to all the bars and restaurants. A small supermarket just outside the door.||||Easy with a self-check in and great to get to know other skiers that's here to enjoy the powder. And wifi in the common room with ping-pong tables etc.||||Easy breakfast provided but was perfect to then hit the slopes.||||I was looking for an easy place to stay where I got to meet other skiers and chat to locals.
