The room we booked was actually for 4 people, and there were only 2 of us, so we had lots of space! Traditional style room with tatami mats on the floor, which was lovely to experience. The host had apparently messaged me to let me know what the code was for the door as he wasn't going to be there to greet us. ||||I'm not sure how he sent this as I didn't receive any emails or message through Expedia whom I booked with - however someone must have contacted him as we rang the door bell several times and he turned up as I was drafting a message through Expedia to ask for help. He was super apologetic and a very lovely and helpful gent. ||||The location was close to everything via train and subway, quite central for most things - Kinkaku-Ji and Arashiyama were probably 35 minutes or so away in different directions, so not too much distance. Buses were more helpful for those locations. It was a great price and it seemed as though he and his housekeeper had thought of everything! Every little thing had it's place, there were a number of free amenities (snacks, body washes etc) a nice deep bathtub in one of the shower rooms and two washing machines. ||||The walls were very thin though (normal in these style of Japanese homes) and the guests in the bedroom beside us were some VERY noisy (and inconsiderate) people who came home very late and walked up and down all the stairs chatting and laughing loudly for some time 2 out of the 3 nights we stayed. Read moreFirst day when we were there the house lady is so nice, her name is chika san!! She is so caring helpful and cheerful!! Showing us around the amazing traditional house and giving us alots of details about it , we really enjoyed staying there,the facilities is so friendly and convenient, i cook almost every night using the kitchen and realised it was more convenient then my house 😂
When were leaving one night in a hurry and it was raining , the owner yusuke san helped us out by providing us umbrella and guide us from walking us to the train station and teaches me how to use the fastest route to kyoto station and sent us out like our friend or a family member , we are very happy and touched… yusuke san is a great and humble person he even gives a souvenirs when were leaving , we really appreciated him alot , this house and this service really 6/5 to us !!
Sincerely appreciated and will looking forward to visit again someday in the future !! Happy and gladly that we found this place and chika san and yusuke san!
