We had mixed reviews of this accomodation ||Pros - was a very large room two small doubles and a bunk perfect for families. Amenities are great with wifi, lots of kitchen utensils, stove, tea and coffee supplied, toothbrushes available, washing machine and tablets are provided with an inbuilt dryer system in the bathroom. Bathroom and shower area was also spacious. Beds are on the okay side but could be softer. The area itself is nice and quiet with a bus stop right out from we utilised every day, supermarket and Lawsons are across the road and you feel very safe. Would recommend for families.||Cons - check in is in a different location 20minute taxi away so we had to catch a train to the check in office when arriving in Kyoto from Osaka, then a taxi to the accomodation after this which chewed up a few hours as we had to wait 45min in addition to check in due to busyness of the office.|The area is a bit out of the way of everything next time I might consider staying at a different resi stay location closer to sights and facilities like shops etc.|All the restaurants in the area seem to not open for breakfast until 11am so we had to have McDonald’s if we didn’t want to cook or travel too far for breakfast as we have a toddler (early riser). Same occurred at dinner time a lot of restaurants didn’t seem to be open the Monday or Tuesday we were there or opened too late for us (we travelled with a four year old).||Our last disappointment was resi stay apparently have a strict not noise at night policy however another room partied until about 3am but there is no front desk or after hours phone number to call to complain / get the noise to stop. Was very frustrating as walls were very thin so we didn’t sleep very well.||Overall we would stay with Resi Stay again but at another location due to Nishijin being a bit too out of...
Read moreGreat accommodations for a family of four. Lots of room, simple but stocked kitchen, laundry in room. Great shower and tub room that turns into a drying room for the clothes you wash. Vibrant decor, with good security and a locked storage room if you need to take your luggage out after check out but still want to go explore the city. Good wifi and a guest information binder on restaurants and other features nearby. A little bit of a pain having to walk over to their offices across the street from Kyoto station and then have to walk back to catch transit to go to apartment. Be careful of what bus you catch! For whatever reason Kyoto bus terminal outside of the station has two #205 busses that go in totally different places. Why they would do that is beyond us, but if we hadn't checked it more carefully we would have ended up in a completely different part of the city. The JR bus does go right in front of the apartment and they do accept the rail pass, but they run...
Read moreWorst check in experience ever. Left out in the cold, needed to call a long distance number to reach reception (NOT at this hotel and was not informed in advance). Then had to fill out huge form asking all sorts of questions like my children’s occupations, and then needed to pay fee online despite having already fully paid hotel. All this using roaming fees as WiFi was not included at front. Then, given wrong access code for the door to room and locked out for a long long time before anything was resolved. Finally after several minutes was told they gave me the wrong code. By that time my children were crying of desperation. All I was told was “sorry for the inconvenience”. Unbelievable!!!! Entire check on took over an hour. ...
