This vegan sushi experience was my all-time.favourite food ever. And we had lots of great food during our stay in Kyoto. This Japanese chef is an artist of the highest ranks. He only prepares the sushi menue for guests with reservations and really celebrates the different courses for them. Each and every single one of his creations were delicious, surprising in the combinations of flavour and textures and mouth watering yummy. They were served in/on antique porcelain, lacquer ware and ceramic table ware, matching the sushi creations. The whole menue was stunning, creative, playful and beautifully arranged. What can I say, world class vegan sushi. See pictures. My deepest thanks go to the chef! Arigato gozaimashita!

I found this spot on Happy Cow while looking for vegetarian/vegan restaurants for my girlfriend. We made a reservation for dinner online (fairly easy) for the Vegan sushi kaiseki. I am personally not vegetarian/vegan, however wanted to give this place a try despite loving sushi with fish. And boy am I glad I tried it. Each menu item was very carefully and exquisitely prepared. I enjoyed every single item on the menu and was thoroughly impressed with everything. Would definitely recommend for any vegetarian/vegans looking for sushi in Japan, and even meat eaters who are looking for something different. Will definitely come back in the future.

In short: if you are vegan (or love fireworks-like taste experiences) make a reservation for the menu and go there! The owner is a true magician, besides being very friendly and hospitable. We spent about two hours and felt like in food heaven. Every single of the 10 courses were served on antique or typical plates and tasted perfect. The menu price is absolutely worth it. Thank you!

This was some of the best food we had while visiting Japan! We ordered the fixed sushi menu and everything was excellent. The ingredients are fresh and each course was delicious. The variety of flavors and pairings was expertly conceived and executed. The menu is entirely vegan but the flavors are not limited by this. In fact I would recommend the restaurant to anyone interested in a creative and artfully constructed culinary experience. Our selection even had several Italian items which were perfectly seasoned and delicious. The chef was very kind and talented. A five star...
