An extremely lucky find, family-run restaurant established since the Meiji Era. Super friendly owner and absolutely delicious Japanese comfort food for very reasonable prices. Every single dish we ordered was sumptuous whether from their regular menu or seasonal menu. Special shout out for their Yosenabe (do go for their porridge option, where towards the end of your soup they take it away, add rice and egg and turn it into a brand new rice porridge type dish). Crispy tempura. Fresh soba, fragrant fried pork. Absolutely nothing disappointed us and we made sure to let the owner know how much we enjoyed dining there.

I don't understand how this restaurant got so many good reviews. After many years of living in Japan I have to say that this was the worst tendon I've had. The presentation was nice, but the tempura batter was too thick and the taste was bland. What's more there were no vegetables apart from a small piece of aubergine. The katsudon was average. The place apparently hasn't been renovated since the 1970s. They don't accept card payments, which for me equals bad service.

I’m very grateful for having this restaurant near my house. The menu on my picture comes with a coffee, which makes it perfect for lunch (they have English menu available!) Most menues come with soba, with a delicious broth. The staff members are kind and the place looks like it has been open for many years, with a big collection of masks on the walls, together with some famous people’s signatures. Want to go back to try their tempura, oyakodon and udon!

Quaint little neighbourhood soba noodle shop, we loved everything that we ordered and ate. The lunch sets were of a good portion and well priced too. We also ordered hot sake to go along with our meals. A great indication that it was a yummy spot was there were no tourists, except us. Everyone else looked like locals. Highly recommend, though there was a 20 minutes waiting time for our food to be cooked and served. It was packed at lunch time when we first got there, no regrets and will dine...
