COGO TENNOJI — Hotel in Osaka

We stayed at COGO Tennoji for 4 nights and it was a truly pleasant experience. Would recommend for anybody staying in Osaka!

The rooms leaned a little smaller compared to some others, but were relatively spacious for our family of 5 and more than we expected given the price point. We had a lot of suitcases and found that we could store them in the room and also have space to move around without any issue. Theres also a spacious shared space in the ground floor, where we loved to eat and hangout.

Given the nature of the place, you have to take care of a lot of things yourself (e.g. washing the dishes, setting up the bed) but that's absolutely what we expected and made very easy by the written instructions (also available in English!) placed everywhere. The staff (who can speak English) were always extremely helpful and friendly whenever we asked for anything, even helping us bring our luggage out of our room when we were late for checkout. We also originally only booked for 4 people, but they graciously allowed us to adjust our booking to 5 people at the counter when we checked in. The only issue I had was that the wifi on our floor could be really slow, to the point I resorted to using my data unless in the ground floor.

The location was the best part of this hotel. With Tennoji station a short walking distance away, we had direct access to the airport, multiple subway lines, AND JR lines as well. There's a nearby park, zoo, and famous shrine, and tons of good food and FamilyMarts near the hotel. There's also a few malls with a ton of shops. One of my favorite parts of the day was getting home and taking a quick rest before heading out to explore the area.

If I'm ever in Osaka again, I'd love to stay here...

We provide the following opinions/ comments on 11-April (last day and spent 8 days totally) and hope that your company will consider improving services onwards.1. At 11-April around 8:35am, we would check out and prepare to go out. So that we wanted to leave all our 4 luggages in the hotel. The receptionist name Mr. Che Haegyeong request us to pay 800円totally for 4 persons. We were very surprised, and frustrated! It is because we were not request to pay luggage deposit on 8-April. At the day, we had room changing from Room 406 to 303. Also, we witness another lady didn’t pay luggage deposit when left the front desk. We found this hotel policy pretty messy. 2. Later on, we would clarify our deposit payment at first day 1-April when we did the checkin process. He casually gave us a reason that was because we were late arrival hotel. Actually, we reached the hotel time in between 10:00 and 10:30. Due to the payment procedure was delayed until 11 o'clock. He didn't check carefully for the reason.3. The receptionist Che asked us for the deposit payment receipt to verify this issue. Actually, we didn’t get your hotel receipt that seems the guy is not understanding clearly your hotel policy. 4. At that moment, we asked for anyone else to assist this issue. Che told us, he work alone that was incredible there is only one staff member and had no supporting in a hotel service management process. 5. Later on he told us that the deposit payment would be refunded within 2 weeks via bank. We were very disappointed with Che's...

The room needs to be improved, even if it is a dorm room, when u build the water area, i think it should have the door to separate coz so noisy every time people go to the toilet, shower or use the hair dryer. The bed itself is clean. The lobby is so nice n has the soak feet in the garden. The kitchen area is good too, u can cook here.

The check in is using the ipad, so check in yourself, check out no need to do anything just left before 10AM.

What I don't expect is...when u come early or when u want to leave your luggage there is a fee of 200 yen, which eyes drolling I stay there but still need to pay if I put my luggage there first or after since I stay there. This is my first time going to a hotel, then I need an extra cost for store luggage. Its like meh..., i saw at elevator that if u want free towel n free store luggage then u need give review at google first, while at first i check in the counter guy never told me.

Oh ya morning.. no one at the counter, so u have no chance if you want store luggage.

Remember no towel, toothbrush here so bring yours. They sell it if u need.

The good thing is near JR Tennoji, but need walk 10 min...
