Satonoyado — Restaurant in Tokyo

Having visited 150+ restaurants in the Kichijoji area, one of my favorites is Sato no Yado, which specializes in fish teishoku set meals🐟

What I love about this place is that because it is run by a fish merchant, they have access to the freshest and best selection of fish, so the available menu is different each day according to what is in season🎣

Today I had the skipjack tuna grilled in miso, which goes perfectly with the rice, soup and pickles🍽🍚🥣

Great meal to refuel after today's gruelling boxercise session🥊

It's always pretty crowded so be prepared to queue for at least 10-15 minutes but definitely worth the wait😋😋😋

Excellent local teishoku restaurant with amazing atmosphere. Their menu focuses primarily on different types of fish. This was difficult for me to understand since my Japanese is quite poor, but the staff could tell and were so kind and helpful to provide us with a picture menu. I'm not usually interested in this style of fish, but I was blown away by how delicious the food was. The flavors and textures of the fish were perfect. Also their miso soup had clams in them! Nice nondescripts place for baked or broiled fish. Seating only ~12 but the waitress takes your order while you wait in line, so it works out.
