Ramen Maji — Restaurant in Tokyo

Bowl, meet face...

It's been a long time since I've had ramen this good. Anyone who has been following my adventures knows how much I like ramen, so when visiting Tokyo, there was a lot of pressure to make sure it went well. I picked Ramen Maji because it's known for ramen that I've never experienced — Sea Bream.

Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect, but when I had to wait in line for 40 minutes at 3 pm, the expectations began to build. I've had this happen before at another ramen spot, and it didn't turn out to be a great review for them. This was just the opposite.

Let's get some things out of the way. Water only, ten seats, and the bowl is less than 1000¥. I'll leave it to you to figure out why all of those things matter, but I'm sure you get it sooner or later. 😏

For how small the restaurant is, the atmosphere isn't bad, but I can't give restaurants with lines outside five stars for the atmosphere. For all the problems modern ramen restaurants face, I always feel like they are leaving some customers out in the cold. I saw five people opt out from eating here while I was waiting.

The service was impeccable. Enough said.

Finally, the ramen...

Smooth, rich, and creamy broth is the base. It almost has a tonkotsu richness, but with a seafood flavor that isn't overpowering. There wasn't a broken noodle in the bowl and it was served at the perfect...

Visited after 6pm on a weeknight and there was a small line of 5-6 people. After a short wait, a staff member instructed us to order with the vending machine inside and indicated which seats we should take. There was an English menu inside to help with ordering from the machine.

We ordered the recommended sea bream ramen, the black (Kuro) ramen, and a small char siu rice.

The interior sits around 8 people with only counter seating. It was a bit of a squeeze to get to our seats but once there it was spacious enough and had a place to hang your coats.

Seafood ramen was delicious - there was not a huge amount of pork but other toppings were generous, would recommend this to anyone visiting for the first time. Kuro ramen was quite rich but also very tasty. Highly recommend trying the char siu if you have space! You can order additional items with cash after...

2025/7/28 ここ最近めちゃくちゃ暑いからでしょうか、昼のピークで外並び無し…だと😳チャンスやん🥰いつも並ぶ時間が…と諦めてた皆様！チャンスやん🥳 私は仕事のケツあり以外、暑かろうが寒かろうが20人ぐらい並ぼうが関係なく真風の為に吉祥寺に通わせて頂いてます🤭 本日も最高の鯛塩ラーメンにチャーシュー飯小を頂きました😁✨

2025/04/25 久々の投稿ですが、コンスタントに最高の鯛塩ラーメンにチャーシュー飯小 を戴いております！物価高の影響で大変だと思いますが今後も近くまで来た時は多少遠回りしてでも伺う様にしています✨

2024/02/04 急遽仕事がキャンセルになったので9:00から吉祥寺で2時間程フラフラして今年初の来店！1月は4回程店舗まで来ましたが営業時間に間に合わなかったりと…。味は変わらず鯛塩に味玉チャーシュー丼で今年も最高の1杯でした!!

土日祝(雨や雨予報は除く)の開店〜14時までは朝10時頃に店舗前に予約表が準備されているので好きな時間の空欄へ名前と人数の記入をお願いします！電話でのキャンセルは不可なので注意願います。 並びの際に注意頂きたいのは、歩行者様が多いので広がらずに一列でお願いしますm(。≧Д≦。)m 駅近で最高に旨いラーメン店が移転とかになったら悲しくないですか?

2022/04/25 なかなか予定が合わず年末最終営業日以来の来店で鯛塩スープ、普段は嫁に怒られるので飲み干しは我慢してましたが気付いたら完飲でふ(笑) 今日も最高でした！！！！

2021/08/28 12:30頃来店でしたが並びは7～8人程！まだまだ外がかなり暑いので、お並びの方は水分をしっかり準備してきて下さいませ。いつも通り完璧な一杯で大満足♪

2021/05/29 開店前に到着したのですが並びを見ると軽く20人オーバーで子供連れが沢山…だとっ!?予定があれば諦める所ですが予定を詰め詰めで来た計画犯は怯みません!!並びの真ん中辺りで明らかに客層が違うのを見つけて声を掛けます。近くのイタリア料理?店の並びと重なっただけでした♪平日にしか朝一並びの経験がなかったので１つ勉強になりました(笑) 本日も最高の一杯楽しませて戴きました♪

2021/05/17 ランチタイム終了時間でギリギリ滑り込みセーフ♪ 鯛塩にチャーシュー丼小 いつも通り最高の一杯でした

2021/03/20 開店前の11:05から2番目に並び11:15程には10名並びに。 本日もお決まりの鯛塩ラーメン半熟味玉トッピング、チャーシュー飯です！味はいつも通り。本当は大きな声で『最高の一杯ご馳走さま』と言って帰りたいのですが、コロナ渦なので会釈を2回ほどして、ささっと帰ります。 私は１人でも多くの人に食べて頂きたいので汗だくのまま即退店します。

2020/09/20 1年ぶり4度目の来店♪ 今日も旨い！いつ来てもウマイ!! 近くに来たときは何度か足を運んでましたが緊急事態休業や時間が無いときの混雑で飢え死にしそうでした!! 味はいつも通り文句なしの美味しさでした！ 9時間半の通し営業はキツイと思うので体調お気をつけ下さい。
