Stay 2 nights 29/30-3-23. Because we are on a tour couldn’t tell you about check in or price of room. I did have to talk to desk person and English was extremely limited, in the end I gave up. Hotel is a bit out of the way nothing of interest nearby. You would have to catch a train to take you into Tokyo central but that could be a problem working out where to go unless you have google translate. One side of the hotel has a grassed area which at the moment is filled with tulips of every colour. Absolutely beautiful. Instead of toiletries in your room they have large boxes of them at the counter everything from hairbrushes, shower caps, ties for hair, bath salts, coffee, English teas, sugar, whitener, face masks, toothbrushes and the list goes on. We are in room 715 right near the elevator (no noise could be heard) Even near the elevator there are more freebies hairbrush, sponge and toothbrushes. If you lived in Australia they’d steal them! Pokey little room for 2 nights. There’s barely enough room to put a suitcase let alone 2, mine is sitting on the floor near the room door. I’d hate to be housekeeping in this room. Apparently in larger cities space is precious. No porters in Japan you do it yourself. 2 beds with barely enough room to walk around. Found myself tripping over everything. Room is darkly decorated and OMG extremely hot. Tried to open the window but couldn’t even tried turning down AC no luck. The only thing I liked about the room was the foot massager but you will need google translate to work out how to use it and the free wifi which is excellent. There is a small fridge and kettle. Yes of course a tv but useless to an English speaking person. Bathroom is clean and if you need more towels near the lift there are bags with fresh ones in them. Just leave dirty ones in the bag and put outside your door. Shower with hose over bath has excellent water pressure. Toilet has seat warmer, bidet and bum washer common everywhere in Japan even truck stops. Some even have birds chirping and a waterfall sound to drown out what your doing. Breakfast hours were long. Don’t go between 7-8 it is so busy the queue is extremely long and getting around the huge breakfast area is a dog fight. Breakfast stayed open until 10am. We went at 9 when we found hardly anyone there. Room is massive and so is the serving island in the middle of the room. They did have yogurt and fruit like lychee and pineapple. The usual sausages, very drippy scrambled eggs and beware of the soft boiled eggs. My husband cracked it on the table, it splattered, not like we know soft boiled. They were the same at each hotel we stayed in. Mostly eastern style foods, I’m getting so use to rice and vege for breakfast. Toasters as we know them don’t exist they use the oven style ones which take for ever to cook and there is always a queue to use them. There is a small Lawson store, similar to 7/11 that sells sandwiches and takeaway foods as well as groceries, toiletries, medications etc. if you buy foods that need to be heated there are at least 4 microwaves in the foyer of hotel. Check out is all automated just return your keys in...
Read moreIt is the worst hotel I’ve ever been to, with its service being even worse than 2 star hotels I’ve stayed in other countries previously. We came as a family of 5, where there’re 2 adults and 3 children. We booked 2 rooms, each as ‘superior triple room’ through agoda. Prior to arrival, we emailed the hotel to ask if our rooms will be side-by-side, and the response was as we booked the bigger rooms, they’re only available at the ends of the hotel, so our 2 rooms will be at opposite ends of the level. On arrival, the reception said they received notice that what we booked was 2 superior double rooms, and refused to acknowledge our print out that we booked ‘triple’ rooms. After some discussion, the person in charge somehow changed our 2 rooms to only 1 room with 3 beds, saying we said we wanted to sleep in 1 room. After further discussion, we finally realised the issue was the info they received from agoda is different from our print out. But instead of assisting us to our room and honouring what we booked, they insisted they can’t give us the 3rd bed as they do not know if we paid for it, and that we had to call agoda ourselves to clarify it. During this entire period, the person in charge was rude and put words in our mouth, also saying that we’re not respecting him. The whole saga took 2 hr, and we missed our booking to another place we’d booked for the evening, thinking we’ll have lots of time to visit it after checking in. After making everyone really unhappy and tired, there was no attempt to even assist in bringing the luggages to the room when my husband was still on the phone at the counter talking to agoda (they were blaming agoda for the issue, but refused to take responsibility and provide proper hotel service by contacting them, insisting we have to do it ourselves if not we’ll not have the bed). So we had to lug our many luggages up ourselves with 1 adult and 3 young kids. This is the worst service, in fact there is no service at all, for any hotel. I will never come back to this hotel and definitely not recommend it to anyone. There was rudeness and total...
Read moreSotetsu Grand Fresa Tokyo-Bay Ariake is formerly known as Hotel Sunroute Ariake. It is a four-star hotel on the first hotel stop of Airport Limousine via Toyosu Station from Narita Airport during the last ride with a travel fare of 3100 Yen. This hotel has changed its method of checking-in guests after the covid epidemic spread to Japan. Guests have to learn to check-in and check-out at the machines themselves because the hotel staff is not at the reception after midnight until 6 am. Guests also have to collect their toothbrushes, toothpaste and razors at the lobby as none are found in the rooms where other toiletries and hair dryers are found. Guests can buy breakfast before 6 am at Lawson, which is located in the hotel building on the second floor. In the Single room, there is a comfortable sofa seat in front of the bed but the table does not have enough space to put a laptop on.The hotel is 200 metres away from Panasonic Center, about 300 metres away from Kokusai-tenjijo Station of Rinkai Line, 1.3 km away from Tokyo Big Sight and less than 1 km from Yurikamome Ariake Station. It is convenient to travel from Ariake to Hamamatsucho Station for a transfer ride to Haneda Airport, Tokyo. The hotel is cheap to stay on days before major events such as JATA Tourism Expo and Japan International Aerospace Exhibition but it is too expensive to book the actual days of the exhibitions even if the booking dates are five months ahead of the actual events.Nevertheless, I may consider this hotel if I were to re-visit...
