This is a new family run hotel which we stayed in in July. It comes with good clean amenities, small kitchen and laundry facilities. I highly recommend making use of the laundry if you need to wash and dry anything. To our amazement the drier is one of the best you'll use because it can literally dry a shirt in 30 minutes and it comes out without any need for ironing. That is because it is gas operated. The only thing that perhaps should be made clear to any user is that you cannot put anything in anything oily because the dryer will catch fire. That is not clear and should probably be made clear to non-Japanese speakers for whom the concept of a gas powered drier is a novelty.
One star has been deducted because of:
there was some confusion about how the Inn operates. There is no cleaning and therefore no replacement of towels. This was not very clear to us but on discovering our misunderstanding the inn keeper was accommodating and provided us with new towels
Tip:
This Inn is between two lines (metro/private) and you are best advised to get a proper transport card covering all Tokyo lines. If you don't have that it is likely that you will end up paying a lot more for transportation than is otherwise needed, because one line changes ownership after Shinjuku. It is as confusing as it...
Read moreWe stayed here, three times over our three weeks in Japan. A really good place to stay. They were very obliging in the times you wanted to check in. Also kept our bags when we went on an overnight to Hakone. 20 minutes walk into the craziness of Shinjuku Station from where you can get every where. The unit was a good size for two people and very clean and tidy. Had everything you could need. Microwave, coffee pod machine, kettle and other kitchen utensils in case you wanted to make use of the amazing selection from the local 7 Eleven. Hatsudai station was only 5 minutes walk away. Entry is through the Opera City building. Turn left out of the unit, then walk to the main rd, turn right and cross the next main rd then walk to the left and take the first entry into the Opera City building then follow the signs to the station. Tochomae Station can be accessed under the Tokyo Metropolitan Building, about a 10 minute walk away, and is also a good spot for starting your journey around Tokyo. We would definitely recommend this place and return if we are back in Tokyo. Only request would be a Small stool in the passage way to sit on while putting...
Read moreCute little family run Inn With only 5 rooms. I got lucky and got the one upstairs with lots of light and a view of the city. Room is spacious, bed is cozy with down comforter and good mattress. Bathroom is nice with good water pressure, though the hot water in the sink didn’t work for some reason (not a big deal for me, and I didn’t ask for a fix, only stayed 2 short nights). Note that there is no housekeeping / cleaning of room each day, but they will bring your fresh towels if needed. Location is great and rate if fair. Owners are a retired couple who weee super friendly and helpful if needed anything. They both speak English, but the wife has lived in the U.S. for some time and her English is excellent. Note that this is a more quiet residential area of Shinjuku, not a lot of food options Highly recommend you...
