Location, location, location! This hotel is situated on the edge of the heart of Shinjuku, close enough to walk to most things, but not so far away that you have to use transportation. However, be prepared to do a lot of walking!
Shinjuku station is about 4 blocks away, and you can get anywhere from it, but warning - it is very large, and there is a steep learning curve on navigating the station. When possible I would try to find an alternative train station that would suit my needs, such as Tochomae Station, which is fairly easily walkable. Use the map function on your phone, which will provide train information for you.
Keio Presso Shinjuku was a nice hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful, but usually busy. The included breakfast was really nice, and the breakfast staff were A+. The rooms are small, as with most Japan hotels, but impeccably clean. Nearby convenience stores include Lawson (on the first level of the Keio Presso Hotel - very convenient), 7-11 a couple blocks north, and others.
Coffee lovers - 7/11 has great coffee! There is a Starbucks close-by and a couple of Doutor Coffee shops (these are great). You will not have to miss great coffee in Japan.
This hotel met all my needs. Anything you need is close. Just be aware that Tokyo is huge; it takes a long time to get most places by train. Buy a Suica card to make your train travel easier. In a pinch you can use it at most shops if necessary. Otherwise, cash is king in Tokyo! I will stay at this hotel again on my next trip. The price and location...
Read moreWe initially booked a hotel near this but after reading the reviews, we decided to switch to this hotel. The hotel is near the Airport Limousine Bus stop at a nearby hotel which mare it convenient coming from both the airports serving Tokyo. However the nearest train station was about 10-15 minutes walk away.|The hotel adhered strictly to the check-in hour of 3pm but we were allowed to store our luggage there. At the ground level, there’s a convenience store as well as opposite the hotel. In the vicinity, a few cafes and convenience stores were also closed by. The room levels needed the room access card when using the lifts. The lifts can go to the first floor below the lobby where one can access the breakfast room and the convenience store. It also offered a way for those with mobility issues on a wheelchair to get to the ground level.|The room was clean and small but functional, just as most hotels in Japan were. There was coin laundry available on level 10 as well. A nice gesture was that cold towels kept in fridge at the lift lobby was provided likely due to the hot weather for the past few weeks.|A good hotel if you want to stay in this area but could be a challenge for those with mobility issues or old...
Read moreI stayed here for 4 nights in April I feel safe, comfortable amd quite. A room was so clean, there's a housekeeper to change our towels, and take out the garbage everyday (If we allow them come inside a room) and one day a housekeeper make our bed as well. It was nice! The hotel's location is not far from Shinjuku station, can walk about 450 m. So, everything was nice for us.
And about the TV. I'd suggest, should have international chanels. I was trying to change and watched international movies but I can't. I need to watched Japanese chanel and mostly is the news channel without subtitles 😅
But one thing I was wondering, In the morning, why is the escalator going down when I need to go up? I have to walk up while it's going down. 🤨 On day one, when I got to the hotel, and I had to carry a heavy suitcase up the stairs. This thing i'm really wondered.
About the staff...or the receptionist are pretty welcome, especially one staff (the foreigner staff) we met when we were check-in, she was very helpful with our check-in precess, and another day we never meet her again while we stayed here.
Lastly...., everything was ok for us with this hotel.
I hope I can come back again...
