Stayed in April 2015, it was cherry blossom season and Kinosaki was very pretty. The hotel is about a 3-min walk from the train station, and pretty convenient to get to all the public bathhouses. ||||Upon check-in, they give you a pass which you can use to visit the 7 public bath houses in Kinosaki. You can use it on the day of check-in, as well as the following day until check-out. The hotel's baths are pretty good too.||||You can choose a patterned yukata to rent, they'll provide matching socks as well, and when you head out to walk along the streets/bath houses you can borrow the hotel's basket bags and wooden slippers.||||Food was sooo good, especially dinner. Servings were A LOT. The items are seasonal I believe, but when I went there was wagyu shabu-shabu, a large platter of sashimi, live abalone, sakura roll cake for dessert...and a lot of other side dishes. I was so stuffed I couldn't finish everything. ||||For foreigners worried about the language barrier, they have English speaker(s) at the accommodation, someone emailed me in English a few days before the stay to confirm my reservation, and upon arrival there was a guy who spoke excellent English. ||||Staff are very helpful and polite, they'll explain to you the details of the room/food/facilities upon check-in, and lead you to your room. During dinner and breakfast they'll explain the dishes and what to expect.||||Once thing to note about the room, if you're planning to buy some snacks/drinks to put in the fridge, the fridge has an auto-lock system that kicks in at 7am, so you will not be able to open the...
Read moreMe and my friend stayed for one night here and it was such an amazing experience. The staff are so friendly, especially the employee who showed us to our room, he told us he was learning English and enjoyed being able to practice with foreign guests (though his English was already really good), also the employee who served us dinner and set-up our futons was so lovely. The dinner was exquisite, such a variety, good quality and very filling! Our room was also amazing, we booked the one with a sauna and private onsen in and it also had a lovely little patio area. I have to admit I was abit scared to stay in a Ryokan at first but I just left the window/shutters open where you could see the beautiful view even at night. The location is very convenient too, literally 5 mins away from the station. The only con, if any, is the selection of yukata's and shoes they had at this Ryokan seemed quite worn/faded but it’s not an issue. Love that they also provide an overcoat, for the evenings/when...
Read moreAmazing 3d2n stay at Ryokufukaku! Staff made us feel like royalty and were very kind, friendly, and helpful.
They refused to let us bring our luggage and baggage in when we checking in, which was mindblowing yet sweet of them.
We would like to extend a special thank you to Takada Erika who was extra friendly serving us during our meal time. She took special care and showed us how to do a proper sukiyaki and even did her best to learn about us and where we came from. We enjoyed our conversation and interaction with her.
The sento in the ryokan, while small, fits your need for soaking. With temperature adjustable single tubs and all the amenities that you need, even branded skin toner and moisturiser.
Food for both dinner and breakfast was great and yummy! If grilling is on the menu, maybe consider having it in the banquet room instead since the smell of the food will...
