Executive Hotel Grand Garden — Hotel in Yokohama

The key thing I feel that you should know is that you don’t have a key to get in and out of your room. You are genuinely locked in your room and without a call to reception each time you enter and exit you will not be able to leave. It’s the business model so I don’t want to write that off completely but it’s just something to be aware of because I hated the feelings that being locked in a room evoked. I stayed here with my partner while visiting the city and we didn’t want to leave the room as often as we would have liked because of the anxiety, claustrophobia and paranoia the auto lock provoked.

The staff were very helpful and friendly but it was not enough to save the experience. The room was larger than most other accommodation for the price but not so clean. The mattress was stained and the bedsheets were a little too small to properly hide those stains.

I see in other reviews that some people think there were cameras in their rooms. I can understand why some might feel that way, I didn’t see any but there’s enough one way mirrors in the lobby and random devices around the room to make me sympathetic to those concerns though I don’t think that they are accurate.

It’s hard to recommend for travellers visiting the city or as a romantic rendezvous spot because if my date took me here I probably wouldn’t...

It's a love hotel so rooms automatically lock you in. It is anxiety inducing and did not make me feel safe, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone on this basis, despite the fact that staff are nice and rooms are big.

The room has at least 1 camera, attached to the TV. I didn't like that either. There are lots of little lights throughout the room, attached to the karaoke system and the control pad for the lights and air con. They can't be turned off so it is hard to sleep in there.

Suitable only for a 1 hour appointment, if you know what I mean....

Absolut schlimmste Hotelerfahrung gemacht… Kamen erst später am Abend ins Hotel. Er war niemand direkt am Tresen, deshalb musste man mit dem Hörer der vor Ort war anrufen. Dann kam eine Person, welche duch die Luke sprach, aber nicht zu sehen war. Die Person konnte kein Englisch, deshalb konnte sie nur mit Übersetzungsgerät kommunizieren… Weiss nicht was bei uns anders war als bei den anderen aber es war eine reinste Katastrophe… Im Zimmer angekommen lief sehr laut ein rauschen, nach einigen Minuten konnten wir dieses dem Fernseher zuordnen und final abstellen. Das Zimmer stank sehr stark nach Rauch von Zigaretten… Wir hatten ein Nichtraucherzimmer gebucht… wir versuchten zu Rezeption zu gehen. Das Zimmer war jedoch abgeschlossen. Nach einigen Minuten haben wir die ausschliesslich Japanischen Zeichen übersetzt und herausgefunden, dass die Tür ausschliesslich im NOTFALL oder per Rezeption aufgeschlossen werden kann (per Telefon im Raum… Im Zimmer war es generell sehr ungepflegt, heruntergekommen und auch dreckig kloschüssel, etc… Die Tagesdecke hatte ein Brandloch von einer Zigarette. Fühlten uns absolut nicht wohl. Konnten final Zimmer wechseln, war nicht viel besser stank aber immer hin nicht… Uns wurde erklärt, wir hätten es ja nicht explizit erklärt. Sie haben etwa 6 etagen und nur eine Nichtraucher-Etage. Deshalb weisen sie einem wenn nicht explizit etwas anderes gewünscht wird ein Raucherzimmer zu… Obwohl in Booking.com „Nichtraucherzimmer“ steht… Generell unangenehme Stimmung im Hotel, alt, stinkig und leer. Wir haben keine anderen Gäste...
