Okonomiyaki Columbus Ishikawacho — Restaurant in Yokohama

My wife and I came here for lunch after reading about the restaurant in the Lonely Planet guide. We've visited Japan twice before and enjoyed okonomiyaki, but this was our first time trying a place where you can cook it yourself. Fortunately, they had an English menu, which made things easier.

What truly made the experience special was our server, Soichiro Eiwa. He kindly offered to cook the okonomiyaki for us, and watching him prepare it right in front of us was a real highlight. It was perfectly cooked, absolutely delicious, and a great value....

My partner and I came here on our first night in Japan after we saw it in the Lonely Planet Japan guide. We were very jetlagged and didn't speak any Japanese but fortunately one of the chefs (unfortunately we didn't catch his name but he spoke perfect English with an Aussie accent) helped us order and even offered to cook our meal at the table. This place is amazing - a super-high quality, gourmet version of standard okonomiyaki. Plus they also do teppanyaki with top-grade beef.
