Toyoko INN Shinyokohama Ekimae Shinkan — Hotel in Yokohama

We stayed a night here to attend a soccer match at the nearby Nissan Stadium and found it to be much as other Toyoko Inns on prior Japan visits. You know what you're getting and they rarely disappoint.||That said, the standard Toyoko Inn decor is starting to look a little garish (especially the pink reception area) compared to newcomers such as the Hotel MyStays chain, though their smart move of making the beds high enough to store luggage underneath is a clincher where space is at such a premium.||The hotel is about 10 minutes' walk from both Shin-Yokohama station and Nissan Stadium, so suited us perfectly. ||There was also a decent selection of places to eat in the vicinity. Full marks for having the Japan Times (rather than the lesser Japan News, full of syndicated news form the US) available in the dining area.||Breakfast was OK, partly due to the large numbers present, as well as the slightly erratic availability of foodstuffs, but was enough to get us going for the day.||We'd happily...

The localization of this hotel is very practical at about 3 minutes from Shin Yokohama Station.||You can reach Tokyo/Shinagawa in less than 15 minutes by shinkansen (bullet train) and many cheaper options to Tokyo and Yokohama.||The hotel is also very practical like other hotels from Toyoko Inn Chain. In a little space in the room you have everything you need for few days with reasonable comfort, including free wireless internet. It is absolutely clean.||The breakfast is based on Japanese traditions and very poor to occidental taste.||The staff is very friendly.
