Guesthouse Amman by FHM — Hotel in Amman

We stayed here for three nights at the start of a six night package tour of Jordan. We returned and stayed here the last night of the trip. Our family had three rooms. Our stay was very uncomfortable and unpleasant. Despite other reviews this is definitely NOT a four star hotel.||We visited in February when it was 2°C in Amman and raining. First and foremost, out of the six rooms in total that we occupied (3 the first stay and 3 different rooms the second stay) only one had hot water in the sink and shower. The staff, although polite and friendly, lied saying the hot water was fine and we just had to let it run for awhile. At one point we let the shower run for 30 minutes wasting precious water in a desert country and it never warmed up. Others in our tour group had the same problem.||The lobby and halls are unheated in winter and very cold. The front desk associate used a portable electric heater and other staff huddled around a propane heater in the restaurant. The propane heaters in the restaurant, although used by staff, weren’t turned on in the morning so breakfast was served in a freezing cold glass enclosed patio area. The rooms have small wall-mounted heaters that are inadequate. With the heater set to 30°C and running 24 hours a day the rooms still did not warm up to a comfortable temp.||Breakfast was an unappetizing setup of cold mezze, cold cuts, roasted veggies, roasted potatoes, boiled eggs, toast, pita, and instant coffee and tea. Food was served in small portions and often more food was not brought out. They routinely ran out of potatoes and eggs and didn’t bring out more before we had to leave. ||This place is clearly cutting corners to save money. I stayed a full week here. The staff is kind and helpful. The facilities are old and run down. The room was okay and the bed was comfortable. There was an old refrigerator in the room that didn’t really work. There was an electric kettle in the room that I was able to use to make my own coffee and tea. The bathroom plumbing was obviously old. The hot water in the sink didn’t work. The toilet button cover fell off. Breakfast was exactly the same everyday. حجزتا بالفندق غرفتين وكل غرفه لها حمام وانتوا بكرامه ووحده من الغرف فيها صاله و كان شرطنا انه بينهم باب بيحيث يصيروا متصلات ، اول شي جينا للفندق ما في مواقف تضطر انك توقف اخر الشارع ثاني شي طلعنا فوق لقينا باب يجمع الغرفتين دخلنا الغرفه الاولى كانت الارضيه نظيفه و الحمام وانتوا بكرامه نظيف ولكن الشطاف خربان و السرر عليها شعر و و بقع و اشياء دخلنا الغرفه الثانيه اللي فيها الصاله كلها غبار وكأنه لها شهور ما تنظفت الغلايه قذره بشكل مو طبيعي الكنب مبقع باشياء بيضاء و قديم و الفراش عليه بقع حمراء و شعر و محروق كأنها بقع دخان ، امنا بالله لانه واصلين تعبانين و معانا فراشنا فردناه و نمنا طلبنا من الهاوس كيبنق ينظف و نظف و احنا موجوديين بالغرف و يعطيه العافيه تنظيفه جيد باستثناء ان الفراش حتى الجديد وسخ و كله شعر جينا بنطلع نتمشى الا الباب اللي يجمع الغرفتين ما يتقفل من برا بس من جوا بمعنى انه لازم نقفل الغرفين قبل نطلع و فعلاً هذا اللي حصل قفلنا الغرف و طلعنا رجعنا الساعه وحده ولقينا باب الغرفه حقتنا مفتوح على كبره وهنا خفنا اتصلت على الرسبشن والاهل يتفقدوا الاغراض رد علي الموظف اسمه محمد النقيب للاسف انه سيء لابعد درجه قلت له انه باب الغرفه مفتوح قال يمكن انتِ اللي تركتيه قلت لا انا متأكده اني قفلته قال يمكن الهاوس كيبنق قلت له لا نظف وانا موجوده بالشقه ( وحتى لو جا بعدين هل من المنطق باب الغرفه يكون مفتوح على كبره ؟) قلت له ولا عليك امر تفقد لي الكاميرات وشوف لي مين اللي فتحها قال مسروق شي ؟ قلت له للان لا قال اجل خلاص ما في شي قلت له برضو كيف تقول خلاص معليش بتعبك وشوف لي مين اللي دخل قام يتأفف قال طيب و قفل انتظرته عشر دقايق ما اتصل نزلت ولا القاه قاعد تحت يدخن ولا كأني كلمته وين الامانه و ين الضمان للي مستأجر عندكم وش عالمصخره هذي مين يقبل انه يروح فندق و يلقى باب غرفته مفتوح وموظف ماله خلق يحرك اصبعه وين قاعديين احنا ؟؟؟؟؟ طبعاً ثاني يوم تركت الفندق ورحت لفندق ثاني وقبل ما اطلع بلغت المشرف عن هذا السوء وانه هذا كله بكتبه بقوقل لان من اقل حقوقي انه الناس تشوف انعدام الامن و الامانه و النظافه اللي عندكم بالفندق و صحيح بالنسبه...
