45 USD/night/ 2 persons? Jordan is way to expensive for this low standard. Or this old-town of Ammann at least.
Sightseeing to old-town is nice, staying in it is a mistake I made. Being next to markets and main road, you will have your sleep disturbed as drivers still happily honking their cars past 10pm. Some shoppers also hanging around and chat. As it is an older building, don't expect double glazed window. So bring your noise-blocker ear-plugs.
The price you see online does NOT reflect the 40% charges on top of it. These charges are 10% hotel service fee + 26% city tax + 3% credit card fee. When you added everything it's end up almost double the price advertised. So be aware.
The beds are pretty good spring mattress. The staff also try to please us, as they see our dissapointment, with upgrade to room with bathroom inside. But again, it is the standard that was poor. It was a makeshift bathroom. Bathroom that just force built into a bedroom. The toilet fixing to the floor is loose, felt it almost toppled over when raising up from the toilet seat.
Back to the beds, the bedlinens were too small and not even tucked in properly. Mine almost all taken off from the bed, as I am a restless sleeper. The room only lit-up by one light bulb. On top of that the room is covered with the dark colours bedlinen, bedcovers, towels, and curtains; making it pretty depressing room. This one light bulb, placed strategically infront of your face... so if you don't want your sleep to be disturbed, bring your blind out too.
Furniture... errr, almost none. Basic tea/coffee kettle making... huff, forget it.
So for USD45 / night for all the inconveniences... is it worthed??? You judge...
Read moreFirst of all the staff here were all incredibly nice and helpful , thank you for everything ! The reason I am giving only 3 stars is because the facilities are just not very nice , you can get rooms that are bigger and newer for the same price and in walking distance. The location is right in downtown and in Hindsight this wasn’t the best Location as it js very loud and there is lots of pollution outside from all the cars and the Hotel is right on the Main Road. I had to cut my stay short because every morning I woke up with a stuffy nose and allergy symptoms - I’m not sure if it was due to the Car fumes outside or because of the rooms. I then found a place 20 minutes walk away on a quiet and peaceful Street with Brand New rooms that were Double the size - and same Price . The other reason I give only 3 Stars is because for me as female solo Traveller the Main reason I stay in hostels is to meet fellow travellers but in this Place I didnt see or meet any other female travellers for the entire Time I was there . I only saw one or two men around at some point. It’s also not great walking around by yourself in the downtown area Late night as a Single woman . No one will bother you but there aren’t any women around so you will Stick out. In Jordan you have to book a private driver for almost all trips so if you don’t have anyone to split the costs with it’s just not feasible as the prices are per Car and not...
Read moreI had a genuinely pleasant stay at Jordan Tower Hotel. Mr. Raad , in particular, made the experience memorable — from the moment I arrived in Jordan until I boarded my flight home, he was consistently checking in and ensuring I was comfortable, no matter where I’m in Jordan, be it at Madaba, Wadi Mujib, Wadi Musa, Wadi Rum - His hospitality is genuine and truly stands out.
The hotel itself is in a prime location, making it easy to explore the city. Rooms were clean, breakfast was satisfying, and room service was prompt and efficient. One great perk is the free walking tour offered — it’s absolutely worth it! You get a solid introduction to Amman and Jordanian culture, with great insights from the guide. (Just note that tipping is expected.)
A couple of things to keep in mind: despite the listing mentioning free parking, the slots are very limited, so plan accordingly. Also, drinking water isn't complimentary — I’d recommend skipping the hotel’s overpriced water and buying it from the shop just downstairs instead.
Overall, the hotel isn’t too expensive nor too budget — it strikes a good balance for a comfortable, happy stay. Would definitely recommend, especially for the warm hospitality...
